This is a thread in which you can post something that may have been stolen from you such as markers, tanks, etc at the field or home. Hopefully someone will see your equipment that by any chance plays at your field and return your gear or tell you who has it. Please dont post crap like "Stolen Paintball, its blue and it has a white fill" or "Stolen shoelace"

You guys need to put marks on your stuff so if you do see it you can prove its yours, pic with serial#'s, engraved #'s whatever. I never leave my marker alone and if I do set it down its no more then 5ft away without me checking every 15-20secs. The little time I put into checking on it beats working 100hours to make the money back. Good luck guys....

Get an aluminum case (i posted somethign about it)

it has locks, then buy a towel GREAT INVESTMENT HERE!!!

both on and off the feild, you put your case under the towl under a table...

get a barrel condom and never have the gun out of your hands

(i know some feilds dont like live guns in the non playing area, most feilds dont mind if u have a barrel condom, cause it actually stops balls)

stay close to your case (with a towl over it)...

you could even rig something up inside your case like one ofthos personal alarms, attack the cord to one side and the alarm taped to the bottom, so if someone opens it it will alarm and everyone will look at him.

and if you hear an alarm you probally know someone is in your case, and you can pistol wip em with the paintball gun that doesnt leave your hands...

everyone wins, exept for the theif who was pistol wipped

Hey Pigeon, not trying to bust your bubble or anything, but what's going to stop anyone from just walking away with the case? It's just as easy if not easier to get away with a marker in the case. No one is going to see what's inside. I've seen a lot of people with those cases and seeing one walk out the door isn't going to turn any heads. They are great for protecting your baby from the elements and such but it won't help against a determined thief. By the way you can get through those locks with a paperclip and screwdriver in about 30 seconds. Even with the towel over it you can tell what's under it. I like the idea of the alarm though. Now that would turn a head or two. Can you imagine the look on the thief's face when THAT goes off. HAHA BUSTED!!! The idea of getting the condom and just not letting go of you marker is really the only way of making sure no one takes it. Get a sling/lanyard so you still have use of both your hands if needed. Like to beat the hell out of the fool that screws with your stuff. :D

Hey mods, instead of making this a sticky could you consider making it a forum? I think there would be too much stuff here for just a sticky.

I see where your coming from there...

This is what i like to do: huffle my case under some other bags or in an area where theives will not tend to go.

Imagine your are a theif, you have come to steal some gear, well obviously you would grab the stuff near the front, if you have yours way at the bucks tucked under some bags and well out of view, its probable that the theif will not pick that because:

A) Its far away, he has to go farther without alarming suspicion that he is taking someones case, remember the theif probally doesnt know its your case, and any one of these people could at any second yell HEY STOP!.

B) Its well out of view, a theif will grab the most convinent thing he can, out of view means its not a recognizable target.

Also rigging up a personal alarm to the case, stuck me as a great idea, after I posted. When I said personal alarm I assume I was semi sarcastic, however if you look at it.

Personal alarms make a huge screetching sound, if your on the feild, and you hear that... chances are your the only one packing an alarm in your case, you can run your *** off to your gear and perhaps catch the theif (if he has not already ran the hell off)

A personal alarm will draw attention to the culprit, people dont routinely thing, hmm an alarm is going off, in a gun case, well thats normal.

With the ever growing fear of being ripped off at feilds, onlookers will notice something is up, and most likely apprehend the culprit (just in time for you to pistol whip him with your gun)

--------------

The golden rule of paintball is keep everything in bags, keep the bags tucked away under tables and in corners... to many people leave their stuff just laying around...

Try and use other peopels bags as cover, and when your not on the feild stick close to your gear...

---------------

Also at home put your gear in a closet or something, it would suck hella big if someone ran into your house and stole your gear cause it was in a easy to grab bag or box...

... god i would cry if that happened.

My self most of my valuble stuff is with me, however i have the full freak set which is kind of a drag to have actually because you wouldent want someone to steal the case with the inserts in it...

I dont own a car atm so i cant lock it in my car either, however locking everything you dont need in your car (out of view of course) is the best bet to avoid theft...

----------

I've never had anythign stolen persay, people have lifted a bunch of paintballs from me though, locking them in the case now ive never had anyone steel the balls out of my case...

We'll anyway

Thieve's can be pretty clever sometimes though. Making as hard as possible is good. Keeping you case in the back and covered with a ton of stuff would make a thief think twice. It depends on how determined or stupid they are. I still like the idea of an alarm. Just to see the look on his face when the high pitched squeal starts. . Make the case stand out some how. Paint it or something. I carry my stuff in this BRIGHT (and I MEAN BRIGHT) orange hockey bag. If it moves you can see from across the street. No one getting out unnoticed with that.:D
It's just too bad that paintballers need to worry about other paintballers.:(

angels have alarms on em :D but yes it is a pity that it has come down to locking up stuff just so it wont get stolen, i have gotten lots of paint stolen from me, i go to play a game, leave my paint in the staging area and when i get back half the bag is gone while some kid filled up his hopper and a pod or 2, it pisses me off but hey, what r ya gunna do, thieves are pretty tough to avoid.

rig a car alarm to your area, one of the mercedes ones

"STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICAL STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICAL. THE POLICE HAVE BEEN NOTIFYED AND ARE ON THEIR WAY, I WILL RIP OUT YOUR EYE AND SKULL **** YOU"

in that deep deep alarm voice

Pigoen: its more like
"Step away form the gun that will kill you on the field, STEP AWAY FROM THE GUN NOW! THE OWNER OF THIS BEAUTY CARRY'S A PUNISHER ON HIM, YOU WILL GET YOU FACE PAINTED BLACK AND BLUE, THEN YOU NOSE WILL BE BROKEN BY THE GRIP FRAME, AFTER HE PICKS UP THIS GUN AND LIGHTS YOU UP SOME MORE. SO STEP AWAY FROM THE DARN GUN NOW!" - that would be funny to hear...

If it was some rich kid who's dad bought it for him then better him than someone who actually has to labor hours to earn his gun.

very simple
DONT BUY EXPENSIVE STUFF ;)
or make ur gun look poor--have a sign hanging from the barrel with a sign that says "will bust balls for nitro fills"
or sumthing
