:atten: were not aloud to debate on whether or not to use S word or biuld them so this isnt....lol, but more the legalities of it this is how i see it companies all the time port there barrels...and claim it makes it more accurate and quieter...the deifintion of the S word....is a device that suppresses or reduces the sound of a noise well whats the difference...i mean u can name a few of course...but i've talk to a few people and as i see it no matter what something's inital intent is if it also has the ability to do another that is considered illegal terroritory its illegal...well i havent seen anyone question barrel porting...it supposedly makes the barrel more accurate, causes less breaks...but also supposedly reduces sound...i havent seen anyone contest this...prolly of the fact its so simple and no one cares....but everwhere i read, i read about how no companies will make or distrubute noise reduction paintball products until they have further information...well does anyone know if there anyoen out there willing to take on the system to find out if its legal....if a paintball guns not a firearm(which its not where i live)i think there's a good case....im not very big even on the topic...i just think its a good debate any eventually someone needs to stand up and do something....im just tryin to play devil advocate here...im really not for nor against ...but im sure alot of scenario/sniper players have alot to say on this topic....speak it brothers....
this is ur friendly homeslice, opening up your minds, saying see ya next time:wave:

Even though I am well aware that this thread will be deleted, I will help you.

A suppressor (the actual noise is never "silenced"), that can be reasonably be presumed to function upon attachment to an actual firearm, is illegal (a felony) to own without the proper federal paperwork filled out and approved, and the accompanying fees paid. Possessing the sub-assemblies of a suppressor is also a felony.

You can talk about silencers, you just can't share how to build them, pics that might show how to build them, or links to sites (or e-mail addresses) that have plans for silencers or the oppurtunity to buy them.

Example:

http://www.pbreview.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif "Silencers are cool."

http://www.pbreview.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif "I like silencers made with..."

Cool? Oh, and other mods, if I read that wrong... umm... well delete this. :)

ok... what if a company made a regular paintball barrel so quiet that it couldn't be heard? Would that be against the law?

speak it danger....thats what im saying it dont matter how you do it ....whys it matter what you do to something....a paintball gun is not a firearm you dont need a lisence for one so therefore i dont see how this would in anyway effect the paintball industry...my question to anyone whos out there who knows.....at any fields or tournaments have they actually said(or wrote in the rules) no silencers? It also seems to me anyone who once sold manufactured silcencers for a paintball gun and stopped....but have they actually been told to stop or are they just unsure so they fear the legal system....honestly i would say the worse possible scenario would be...the company gets taken to court... they possibly lose and they stop manufacturing the product....and that would settle the debate whether or not paintball silencers are legal.......Im gonna try and get you to see where im comin from...if companies made different classes of paintball silencers one doing better then the other, while being the most gas effcient, and keeping great accuracy, just like a barrel the more you pay the better you get(usually) well what im sayin is imagin not knowing where a ball came from cause the only sound you here is of the pneumatics go off in the gun....this is an awesome advantage in the game...i know if they made the ultimate sound suppressing device and put a dye logo on it....i could see people spending between 75-125 dollars for one of these babies, once the word got out of the advantage, this may not be as big of an advantage with speedballer(still would help) but i know woods players wood love it for stealth play. they might even be able to get more for the product becuase the less people who have them...and they see how well they work...the more people will pay for such a product.....i just think it would open up the paintball industry to beginning...and an exciting beginning at that...

yeah i've seen a barrel extention site...but they "claim" it has no intent for sound redustion nor does it do so...it supposedly creats less turbulence on the ball by removing air pressure from the front of the barrel....i dunno
