its not bad when its hot out...just don't move too fast unless you have to. It's not a bad idea to have a waterbottle with you, either. Even up here in montana it gets really hot in the summer time, we always have waterbottles. And if you play in the woods, the heats never as bad.

Well, if you play in woods it isnt bad at all because its nice and shady in there but speedball is a different story. Your sitting out there in the sun for awhile. But, your adrenaline is rushing through your veins so you wont notice until you stop. Then just find a shady spot and drink lots of water. Good luck!

I hate summer to begin with, it's hot, drizzly, and I am almost sweaty. And since I live on the Jersey shore I have to put up with all the craptastic tourist traffic. The worst part is though, is that it is almost painful for me to play paintball when it's this hot out (75 degrees & up) because I sweat likea friggin' pig! All hail Winter and Fall, the only REAL seasons. j/k about the "only REAL seasons" ;)

Snyper ... that's a hella cool avatar you got, I laughed my Arse off when I saw it.

Watch the temp whether playing woods or speedball. If you're gonna play, take plenty of water with you, not just one bottle. I'd also recommend avoiding softdrinks, they just bloat you up and don't replace fluid in your body.

If you stop sweating or get chills, stop, sit down and start drinking some water, you're close to heat stroke/exhaustion.

I usually take two or more gallons of water with me with I play.

just find a field that has a lighted field and go at like 7:00 and they play into the night

Muck.. you hit the nail on the head. I was practicing a couple of sundays ago. We have black practice jerseys and man let me tell you. I got the chills from sweating so much that i had to sit down for about 30 minuets. I couldn't do anything, not even cool down.
I thought I was gonna pass out for real. Anyway, now when I go up to the feild on the weekends i only play one or two games and ref the rest. Even refing I get hot...
WOW...

i live in south florida and i play out in the woods and its so freaking hot. it feels like its 140 degrees in the woods even tho we drink about half a gallon of water before we go out we still have people who faint or pass out in the middle of the game! its crazy but fun.....well except for the fainting part....

It seems to me that playing in the summer would be the best time to play. I mean it's better to be too hot than to have your balls freezing, or your gun freezing up. One of my friends had the idea of where a camel back when playing, I've never tried it, but I bet it'd be a good idea so that you don't get too thrist, and so you don't have to take off your mask to drink. Also, if you're too hot you can buy fan things for inside your mask. They're pretty expensive (I don't have them) but I bet they're worth it.

Thead

Stalker{JOS}
06-25-2001, 05:02 AM
thats insane playing with shorts. if you get shot there its gonna hurt like hell. just wear the fatigue pants that they sell in the army surplus stores. there made to keep you cool when you sweat.

Landon

I wear drawstring pants and longsleeve shirts and when i get too hot i just pull the pant legs up and draw the string and roll my sleeves up. Paintballs dont hurt when you get shot in the leg but you have to watch out about sliding into bunkers because i tore the skin up on my leg doing that... and it still hurts. Ohh that was a good idea about the Camel Back, i might get one for those hot days!

I play during the coldest winters and hottest summers. You will have such a adrenalin rush you will forget the heat. Just remember to drink lots of water between games.

I got used to the heat, I tryed to take a break from play but PB is to adictive.

I wear shorts all the time. The paintball going to sting no matter what you have on , just tough it out. Plus most of the time I'm kneeling down behind a bunker, can't really get shot in the legs that way, just the knees. You could always wear shorts, and shin pads if you wanna.

Snoogens
07-22-2001, 04:15 PM

Landon
07-22-2001, 09:56 PM
I bought a Camelback and used it a last week in a game. I thought it worked very well when I was thirsty because the hose hangs down your shoulder and you just bite on it when you need water. It promotes bounces on your back too because of the water bag inside. Another good thing about it is that you look cool wearing it! :P

The bad thing is that the Young Guns on the field are like, "ewww that is cool now i have to go get one!" hehe

Letchworth40
07-22-2001, 09:57 PM
i keep forgeting to bring a waterbottle next time i play. someone pm me so i dont forget

KoRnMaN

take unopened icicle pops like the ones inside plastic and put them in the straps of your mask and get a mask fan and everybody else will be dead and you will win seriosly try this.:)

u can play, just make sure u get breaks and LOTS AND LOTS of fluids, like gatorade and water, NO soda!. U have to watch urself too.

KoRnMaN
07-30-2001, 09:05 AM
Yea soda is bad it makes you more thirsty and by the end of the day you are so hyper but your tired all at the same time like smoking weed almost.

SmartDyeSpyder
07-31-2001, 05:19 AM
I guess u can compare it to that, but it really sucks when ur friend deny that they are gonna get it soon, and they keep playing and sooner or later he is the one not coming off the field and he ruins it for everone, b/c the REF thinks that if one goes, than the rest will follow. SO we dont play.

KoRnMaN
07-31-2001, 01:49 PM
Yea that really sucks.

SmartDyeSpyder
07-31-2001, 04:37 PM
Well, i am fortunate b/c so far, when i play, i haven't been there when it was really hot out, actually it usually looks and sounds like it is gonna rain but it doesn't.

SmartDyeSpyder
08-01-2001, 10:35 AM
AHH, but it can't be bigger than the biggest, b/c for two reasons, one, then it would be the biggest anymore, and two, Alaska is the biggest and u can't change that.
