He says his tippmann 98c can't chop balls. I asked him how it does not, and he said its made not to... I aksed how its made not to, and he said it just is... I think he just shoots to slow to chop a ball... he also said 98c's can't be annod?

He's wrong on the first count, and half wrong on the second.
Creek, another Moderator here actually anodized my Custom for me. You can see a pic of it in the Tippmann Pics thread. Tippmanns don't take anodizing as well as most guns because it's made differently. (Somebody here like Meph can explain it better than myself. It's a cast aluminum issue.) However, it CAN be done, because as I said, mine IS anodized. And it turned out fairly decently...

noobs will be noobs. Disproving his non-chopping theory is as easy as tilting his gun and shooting a quick burst.

Lol "its made not to" yep I guess some companys make guns to chop balls:laugh:, but the genuisses at tippmann had a the great idea to make a gun thats made not to chop balls lol, the truth is any gun can chop a ball no matter what or how its made ect. I find with my tippmann i don't chop many balls, like 3 out of a case.:

Not true. Cockers can be tuned to not chop, as can impulses and matrixes. And let's not forget lvl 10 automag's.

Any gun CAN chop a ball, sure those guns can be setup to not chop but that is not always the case, just because a gun is setup not to chop doesnt mean it cant, so even if a gun cant chop you could get one lucky ball that does chop, there is aways a possiblity, a low possibilty but its there

lol. Yeah and my Tippmann can fly around the field and drop fairy dust on people.....but seriously the only gun I've heard of that doesn't chop are some cockers and a Vision Impulse.
Tony... the level 10 mag literally can't chop paint! So yes, there are markers out there that absolutely can not chop a single paintball.
And the Epic can't chop paint... not with a bolt chop any ways. It has no bolt! :)

Yes it can, go ask AGD, the lvl 10 reduces it greatly, but it still can chop balls...get your facts straight. E-Mag with ACP and lvl 10 can still do it; hard, but possible

If you have it tuned right, then its impossable to chop with the lvl 10.

All markers can chop. But if you really narrow it down, you really gotta look at the paint that you have in your marker.

Did you ever see the videos that were put out of an E-mag with Lvl 10? One had a ball half in the feed, and the person on the gun railed on the trigger....must have pulled in 20 times. Bolt just touched the paintball and backed off. That gun will not chop paint.
My facts straight?
I am watching a video right now I have of it. They removed the breech, and in front of the barrel hole they have a metal block. Between said bolt and metal block, they put a Hellfire paintball.
And as we all know, Hellfire is one of THE most brittle paints out there. Not to mention they leave a lovely stain. Well, some british guy is giving commentary to this as well.
He's pulling the trigger, and pulling the trigger. Doing this over and over. Still giving commentary like a boxing match. And guess what? After numerous direct hits by the bolt... the hellfire didn't break.
But when tossed right onto the ground, it broke. Of course, showing it's a real paintball.
Not to mention I have about 6 other videos showing how it doesn't chop. So please, tell me where these videos used special digital remastering to make it only look like that is what happened?

Plus, I don't think that guy would stick his toung in there if there was the slightest chance it would cut it off...

the lvl 10 automag will not chop paint! my brothers friend has has lvl 10 and it will absolutley not chpo a paintball. if any obstructions are in the way between the reciever and the bolt the action will stop and the bolt will go back into the cocked position now if anybody has ever seen a lvl 10 chop a paintball i will stand corrected but im telling you it wont happen

tonysk83 your right... There is no bolt so there is no way a ball can be bolt choped. not as for breaking in the barrel thats a different story...

I have heard this before. It is a newbie thing. what he claime is "made not to chop" is just that the 98 has less force behind the boly than say a spyder. Mix this with though shelled paint and the 98 pinches paint with out choping. Give this guy some brittle paint and his 98 will no longer pinch it will chop and he'll say you screwed his gun up. :)

I could makei t chop...I've done it before I can do it again. Who did this video by chance? Becuase I had a single ball chop in my friend mag lvl 10 and it's the only time we've been able to chop. How? Not sure, but it can chop. He told me the same thing so I bought a case and it took 500 rounds or so to do it; I shot semi in variuos patterns and it eventually broke...
I have a few videos of the e-mag shooting full auto with a Halo on top. One spells out halo, one shoots a stream of paint at a wooden target, and another one is just shooting non stop at a left side angle w/ clear Halo (you can hear the air vent out the bolt and skip a shot every now and then, but doesn't chop).
The Hellfire one was called "hellfirevspatio" and I have no clue who made it. I dloaded every one of these videos as they came out, and that was a while ago. Though I'm sure if you surf around AO forum you'll find it.
If you have to ask, it's the one with a British guy giving commentary like it's a boxing match.
