What size air compressor would you need to fill your own HPA tanks?
You need a compressor that's made to fill SCUBA tanks. They cost $2000+ and take about 1/2 hour to fill a SCUBA tank. A regular compressor only goes up to 150 +- psi. HP air tanks are 3000 - 4500 psi.

Hmmmmm.... I've only got access to a regular air compressor. But it is big enough to run air tools. I just don't know if it would be big enough to fill my own air tanks.

no sorry your home air compressor is only designed to run air tools and to fill tires. the output pressure is only 150 to fill hpa air tanks you must either have a ram to increse the pressure but that probabally wont work because the input pressure is not high enough. the other option is a HIGH PRESSURE air comprssor which is several thousand dollars and the other option is to go buy a scuba tank and a fill station and pay the 5 bucks to get it filled each time but you can grt several fills off one tank ant this is the cheapest option.

Buying a scuba tank would be an option. Since I've been putting that off for years ayway. :)

that is probabally your best option because it is less than 10% of the cost of the other options
