I'm thinking of buying a remora barrel adapter to be able to equip a higher quality barrel to my stingray II. I was curious if that would increase the length of my barrel at all and if so, by about how much?

Depends on how long the adapter is.

the remora adds about an inch and a half to two inches. So if you were to go with a bigshot, you would have a 13 or 14 inch barrel setup.

Yeah but barrel length doesnt affect anything, except maybe gas efficiency.

Doesn't the barrel length affect the distance and the accuracy too?

Nope

the only thing that affects length is backspin, which is what the flat line system does.

Everyone I talk to says that a longer barrel affects the accuracy of the gun. Are you sure it doesn't?

im positive. ever wonder why all length barrels cost the same on one type of barrel? if it was more accurate dont you think the barrel would cost more.

Good Point.

with a real gun lenth does make for better accuracy..because maxamum velocity is reached well outside the barrel...but with paint ball markes the max velocity is reached in the first like 6-8 inches of the barrel...after that it is just drag...

Barrel length DOES effect distance, but they charge the same becuase everyone has different needs for the distance they shoot (i.e. a back player wants a LONG shot at some one so he doesn't hafta move forward, into unsafe territory). A front guy will want a short barrel which will take less time to get out of the barrel, and have less turbulance when exiting it. a longer barrel will have more turbulance because of the time it takes for the ball to travel through the barrel, the same theory applies to a shorter barrel, that is why the shorter the barrel, the less the turbulance, the less gas needed to push it.

That is why MOST people don't use 18 inch barrels, also because they're just too long.

a longer barrel may not be as efficient, but i will be more accurate. Thepaintball needs 8 inches to accelerate to 300fps, then the reat of the barel is just to guide the paintball. The longer the barel, the more guiding room, the more accurate. It may be as efficient though, but if there sitn much porting, it wont be a sicnificant thing, and if u buy a small nbored barel, that will help the efiiciency too.
