The first time I ever played ball (VS my little brother) was in the woods behind my old elementary school. We found a big spot of land with great cover (rusty old cars, trees, tall grass, the whole 9 yards). It was probably a little above freezing, and just about the whole play area was thinly covered in snow, or layered in ice. That just sets the scene... before I knew what was cool and everything like that, we started playing. Now this is literally THE FIRST GAME I've ever played. My brother ran off about 150 feet and yelled game on. As far as I knew, he was going to sit there and wait for me to walk into the open and shoot me. So I circled through the woods to the left of me, and low and behold, about 60 feet to my right, was my dear little brother. Being as I didn't know how well my gun would fire in the conditions, and I hadn't really fired it from that distance, I started firing paint like nobody's business, all missing my brother. When he finally realized that I was to his right, he turned and BLAM... RIGHT between his eyes (while wearing goggles of course). Being as he has never seen a spherical object flying towards his face and making contact at 280FPS (yes we invested in a chrony... partially because we're huge losers :) ), he frantically screamed "IM OUT, IM OUT." While on an adrenaline high, he quickly wiped his goggles off, ran back to our ghetto little "staging area" and got suited up for another game. Ultimately, this is what got my brother and I hooked on paintball. Hope you all enjoyed my little story.
