Collage Pkg or Nasty/Rat

Ok, I am working on a tight budget (aka spend as little as possible) and I need a new marker. I had pretty much decided on a Impulse then I was seriously looking at a Matrix and then I went back to a Rat ISO/Nasty imp now I see this collage pkg and I am wondering If i should get a Collage pkg and a new barrel (boom stick or AA) or just go for a Nasty/Rat. It should be noted that I LOVE the milling on both markers. If any one has a pice of advice I would be grateful.

always tough choosing between custom impys, go with whatever you can afford and like the best, if it was me id choose the RAT for its looks. basically only difference between RAT and nasty is the milling so you should first ask yourself if you wanna dish out the extra cash for a sutom or if you just want the college package

The college 2 package is for people who are on a bugget.

The 2 mods that the gun has are the most important that you can get.

Nothing extra, no milling, anno or sillyness. Just preformance.

Its a decision of whats more imporantat. Is spending the diffrence in price on 3 cases ($150) or looking a little cool more or less imporant to you?

IMO, for non-tourney games that means i could play 4-5 days... thats more than a month of play.


If i could do it all over again, i would go college package 2 and C02. Get 2 CP barrels and be done.

Thats all.

$650 investmetn and i am done, no more investing, no more moding just playing.

If I where to get a collage pkg 2 it would have come with the ND front cap and the ND LPR nipple to inorder for me to use the lpr correct?


Dose any one know how much custom ano and/or milling would cost later on because I would like to have a marker that is very much mine which is why Rat's and Nastys appeal to me... No one near me has em! (xcept for my buddy, he has a nasty) and if some one got one what are the chances it would be the same color/setup?

If your going to get milling and anno you need to get a custom gun from the get go. Any milling/ano ends your Sp warranty. :(

It sounds like your mind is made up, so just get the custom marker. You'll be happier if you just get what you want.

However, IMO custom guns are cool, but excessive. Most of the custom part of my rat is that there is no black left on the gun. Its just Red and silver. Everything is red and silver. You know the screws for the gripframe, i replaced them wit silver ss. The black part of the maxflow- silver. Same with the end of the gun. Thats custom... i have not seen another one like it.

If I ever get my Iframe/ werm/frame the gun will be even more custom- but i really dont want to spend any more $$.

Lots of people have a custom gun. So dont get one to be diffrent because your not going to be unless you get some a custom ano job (like when they make it), or you do some cool mods yourself.

If you want to be totally custom, then get the college 2 package and then go and get some stickers, and put them on your gun.... sure people have stickers on their gun, nothing new there, but most people put paintball stickers, or Britney spears stickers. Put something different, like a funny political slogan or something- that would be truly unique.

Just know that you could have had the same imp (preformance wise) for less!

Just some little tidbits to make things harder...

The ISO mod is much better than a tape worm. The iso mod is basicly a "lpr mod" without the reg. I mention this only because if you compare a gun with an iso mod to one with a tape worm, the tape worm epquipted gun will have a slight loss of prefromance.

Also There is a lot of talk about how heavy the interals are. It is well knowen that when you go to a delrin bolt, you should compsate by going to a heavier hammer. Problem is the brass hammer is a bit too heavy and the alumimn hammers is a bit too light. Just FYI Rats are now starting to ship with the "Rat hole" hammer (and delrin bolt) which is "balanced" to the weigt range we have found best.

Rember that the custom guns do come with a lot more goodies on them. If you realy don't plan to buy a freak barrel, stickys, or a delrin bolt/brass hammer- then these "extras' are of no value to you. BUt if you buy a "collage pack" and add the freak, stickys and bolt, suddenly you are in the same price range as the customs
