Every 3 years a fibre wrapped tank needs to be hydro tested...which means they need to test the tank to see if the structural integrity is still enough to fill. If it isn't they drill a hole through the tank. Its only like $20.

So if it doesnt pass then they drill a hole and its ruined??? That sucks!!! Where can I get this done at? Any paintball store usually or do I have to go to like a scuba tank store or something? BTW thanks for responding to my probably insignificant question, I feel dumb cause everyone else seems to know what it means.

blah... just go to where you bought your tank at, they'll fill you in on the info. Testing the tanks is once every 3 years.. maybe 2-3 years down the road you won't fill it. People who operating the fill stations WILL definetely LOOK AT THE DATE OF THE TANK before doing so. So if it's 3 years old, they test it out. If your tank is 3 years old, get it tested..

How much does it cost to get another fibre wrapped tank? I'm talking jus the tank, not the regulator that comes on it.

You cannot just purchase a tank without the reg. You must purchase it as a set. The purpose of hydro testing is to insure the safety of the tank. If it does not pass the hydro test, you are playing with a potential bomb.

what happens other than they drill a hole when it fails the test, other than screw it up? and if it does fail you gotta go and buy another tank, scince you can't buy the tank alone w/out a regulator? that's another 400 bucks! i feel sorry for you angel air owners, who are rough on your tanks.
