did you drill another hole in the ASA or did you make the stock hole bigger? And did your lpc come off? cuz i'm having a tough time getting mine off.

ptflyer
02-04-2001, 12:38 PM
yes..the LPC comes off...just use the strong arm method...and I just drilled out the hole that were there...I thoght that was enough...others have told me to drill more....but this worked just fine....

be sure to read his instructions...and drill in the direction he tells you so you don't screw up the treads...and also...becareful of the mounting screw hole..that you don't drill on a angle and put a hole in the bottom of that mounting screw hole....he eaplains that in his directions...

ptflyer
02-04-2001, 12:40 PM
oh..and you need to drill both..the hole from the LPC to the valve chamber...and the hole from the tank or reg side up to the LPC...

im' still confused...so when i am finished, i should have 4 holes? 2 for the ASA part and 2 for the LPC hole?

ptflyer
02-04-2001, 01:13 PM
no.there are two hole already......one from you tank or reg to the LPC.....and there is one from the LPC side to the valve chamber side...you want to make these two hole bigger...thats all...
but that link to the AKA pic..you will see what AKA does to a ASA...

flyer we almost have the same setup... the only difference is : i have a stock bolt minus the venturi..madman spring set... as for the reg i was gonna get the gen x but can't afford to get anything new yet...so i probably will go with somethin cheaper

I just pick the genX becuse it looks cool and I am using N2....if you are using N2 and don't want to spend that much the Vigilante is a good reg for that.. For Co2, the best is the Palmer's stabalizer

ptflyer, ur shutter sound sweeeeet. All i did to drill out my asa was take a 3/16 bit, and ril, but it was a pain in the ***, because the original hole starts at the wall, and it was a pain to hold the drill steady. Do u think it would work even better though if i aded a few more holes around the edges, like 4, in a square effect?. How mcuh would u thik that will drop my pressure.

Upgraded shutters kick ***!!!

I don't know if it will drop it anymore...but if you go up in the tread ..there is a link to a page that shows the AKA asa....and look what there asa looks like....they have just one HUGE hole from the bottle/regulator side up to the LPC..and about 6 holes from the LPC to the valve chamber...that pic made me think...but I haven't decided if I am going to try that...I already have my shutter down to below 300..(I run it at 350psi or so..though)...just doing what I have done already...

A damn fool
02-05-2001, 06:40 AM
I htink ill do that with the 6 holee in the lpc chamber, but how does that big hole allow the pin to be pushed down if u run veritcal. If i drilled out a nother huge whole, then i wouldnt ever be able to run a verical bottle, right?

ptflyer
02-05-2001, 09:12 AM
no..you won't be able to run your bottle vertical..if you drill the larger hole on the bottom...but if you drill a hole that big..you better be running LP...so you would need to have a regulator somewhere in line anyway...and if you ever decide to go back..(don't know why you would)...you will have to get a replacement ASA..

A damn fool
02-05-2001, 09:35 AM
what if i did it like they did it n the lpc side, and put like 6 holes, but kept the pin there just in case i ever neded to run vertical for a day? Will drilung it out that much really decrease my presure, or not?

TLplus84
02-05-2001, 10:40 AM
hey how do you put the drill up against the wall? won't it mess up the threads of the ASA?

A damn fool
02-05-2001, 11:35 AM
u send it to work with ur dad and have him have someone else do it, thats how, lol. I think though im just gonna have them add a few more holes in it around the asa end, and then a few more through the lp side.

ptflyer
02-05-2001, 12:08 PM
well I drilled it starting from the vavle chamber side and drilled through to the LPC side...and stop befor you reach the treads for the LPC..I did mine on a drill press...but I supose you can do it with a hand drill...if you just take your time..and don't rush the drill bit through.(let the drill do the work)...and stop before the drill bit reaches the threads..hope you understand what I was trying to say..

A damn fool
02-05-2001, 12:11 PM
What about going through the veritcal side though, im probably gonna have someon else do it, but im just wondering?
