Hey Guys,

It's been awhile since I have posted. Anyway I have some problems with my 98 and A5...

First the 98...

I played last weekend with my 98, no problems. Well I tried to shoot a couple paintballs out back in the woods behind my house. The 98 will NOT fire with the barrell on. Theres plenty of C02 in the 20oz I was using so thats not the problem. The temp is cool but nothing I haven't played in before. When I put the barrel on the bolt moves forward but the paintball doesnt leave the barrel. If I take the barrel off and fire the gun with just gas it fire fine. So to recap with the barrel on it seems as though no gas is hitting the ball... Any suggeestions as to whats going on?

now... the A5...

My friend has had this gun since last summer and it works great well until this past weekend anyway. It shot great all day until the final game. In the middle of a firefight it simply stopped firing. Again, plenty of gas. The gun will not even cock now when gassed or empty. The trigger will not move at all. I checked the assembly and everything seems to be fine. Any Ideas what this could be??

Now, I keep my guns meticulously clean and well oiled, and I am completely baffled. My Tippmanns have NEVER let me down until today.... Any help is greatly appreciated... ( I Should have stuck with my PGP and P68  )

wow, im stumped, if the assemblys fine they should work. a few things to try for the heck of it though. Put a few drops of oil in the ASA, and dry fire it, also double check your velocity settings. lastly if the gun is fine, your paintballs could have swelled up, check the paint to barrel fit, if u cant blow the paintball out using your barrel like its a blowgun the paint is too big. LMK what happens, good luck

Check your barrel for the 98 if it is making some physical barrier by itself or in the gun, try putting on your stock barrel and firing it, check your bolt, I seem to have problems with tippmann bolts

just out of curiosity, what barrel do you have... I have the same problem with my crummy pmi barrel. It works fine on m98s but on my custom, no worky. I have to uswe the stock barrel.

Ok, the 98. Check your paint. Make sure it isn't swollen to the point of keeping the bolt from moving.Next, check your valve. It may be too gunked up to blow the ball out. You can do this by dumping about a 1/2 ouce of Hoppe's #9 in the asa and shooting it through. Now,if this hasn't worked, make sure all the drive parts aren't catching on anything. Hope this helps

OK,now the A-5. Look for any small shell peices in the bolt area. I had a spyder to this and we had to use pliers to get the thing out.

If all else fails, hit it HARD with a blunt object. I know thats stupid but stupid sometimes works

If you want any other help im pretty good with 98's. I mech the rental ones at our local fields! PM me:yell:
