I was the fastest kid in grade 9-12, I was clocked at 11 seconds in the 100metre run. I was beat out my OAC year. Grrrrr.

i can usually make it to the 40 on the break, my team try not to shoot alot of paint(cant afford it), so we usually play 5 man a 3 front 2 back, so we try to be very aggressive, it also helps that im only 13 5, 3 and 105 lbs. and am the starting point guard of my basketball team

Fast enough. I don't do things quite like most front guys do, and in all realism, if I tried this style of play in the pro leagues, yes, I'd be wasted. I'll take the 35 right tape usually, go in, take a few shots, and leave almost immediatly, rather unexpectedly for the 50. I've never been a real fast runner, so to compensate, I try to carry a light agile setup and small pack...so my speed ends up matching a normal front man's. I may not be fast, but I am agile, so getting in tight and quick is not a problem. I can dissapear almost immediatly when I hit my bunker and still pop out screaming paint half a second later. If I think I cna't hit my desired bunker, I'll make a half second stop behind cover long enough for them to stop shooting at me just one time....I find that the first time they stop firing at your bunker it means that they have an excuse to divert their attention. I generally don't stop holding my gun on a bunker until I see them come out and go back in once or exchanged shots with me...then I know they've made it at least a temporary home.
Get behind my stop bunker, let them stop shooting, as soon as they stop shooting, I move. Whenever I have made it to the stop bunker, I have never been shot out when moving up to my target bunker. When I get hit off the break, it's usually RIGHT away or before I have passed the 10.
Once, playing three man, I had all three guys, having seen the way I play (they said I talk too much....if a player is shooting at one of my guys, I'l tell him which bunker and where he's shooting out of it...if they so much as cough my team hears about it), target me specifically as soon as the game was on. I took one to the knee that broke. When I slid thinking it bounced, the dirt covered the hit, but I checked when I got in the bunker and found it did break....so rather dissapointed I walked off with the ref asking where I'd been hit. I felt kinda foolish, but good.
I don't even remember who won that game anymore, but I would remember if I had cheated or not.

you dont go by 100, go by 40....
why do you think people always talk about 4.4 40's not 10.2 100's
frisko_sav
10-29-2002, 05:38 PM
well, here in the bay area, we do 100's, its measure stamina more than short burtsof speed, thats why a 4.4 time would diminish to a time longer than 8.8 beacuse of fatigue, so if you can run the 100 in 10 seconds, youre VERY fast, tahts why i run 100, and i run hihg 11'to low 12's, and if its that important to you, 40's it is :D

usually i can make it to the opposing teams 40 off the break on a 10 man field but i never really do i just insert to the snake or sumthing and crawl the rest. Remeber its not how fast u can run to ur bunker its how fast u can run to stop u have to superman 15 to get to ur bunker.

I don't know what i run the 100 in, but it don't matter, no field is 100 yrds long! I play front for 3 reasons:
1. To OWN their mid and back players.
2. To BUNKER the front player that called me a noob before the game started
3. I love the much higher pace of being in front.
Most people don't think i can't play front cuz im 6'2 and 200lbs, but then i tell them that i can bench-press them and 2 of their friends at the same time. (god bless college workouts) Oh and back on subject, I hit the 40 or the snake (i luv snakes!)off the break. If i hit the 40 i move within 15 seconds regardless of enemy fire, sometimes it will be to another 40 bunker (house's are cool too) but usually i hit the 50(off the break)
Oh and
SNAKES RULE ! ! ! !!!

I can run the mile in err 7:30 minutes...
Thats why I play back
Our fornt man ran the mile in 6:00 and the otherplayr on our team(dunno position) about halfway through he hit one of the hurtles on the track when he wasnt looking then he threw up
we only run the mile in PE
but in basketball we have to run a seventeen(from the width of the court so eachtime you get on the other side its 1) in 55 seconds and I had to run if 3 times in a row(everyone got to quit it after they made it) until on the third try the fastest guy on our team(nice guy)helped me. Time was about up and I was half a width away and wasnt going to make it. The he like grabbed my arm and threw me across the line and i made it just in time. But now i have alot more speed and stamina now cause for the first 3 weeks of BB all they did was running and speed layups(run down the court and do layups back and forth) then after the first 3 weeks everyone always made the times by a few seconds and now we just run 2 suicides(one in the middle and one at end) for 2 or 3 of our 5 practices a week.
But anyway Im just really slow
frisko_sav
11-05-2002, 09:14 PM
yea, for my soccer team, we run suicides, and we have to do like 30 in 2 minutes some crazy crap like that

what realy counts is how fast u can get to your bunker. not how fast u can run a mile.:eyes:

i can run the 40 in 5.6.....and uhhhh yeah i never have had an endurance problem w/ paintball....or bak to bak soccer games for that matter (prolly cuz im goalie) but uhhh yeah, my mile time sux, it was like 8:15 or sumthing like that.

i can run the mile in 8 mins flat (o ya) and im still one of the fastest people on the field but it doesn't matter how fast your are because i have seen track stars come out and they just can't play but they can run. for example this one player who used to play for my team could jump over the lay down cans without touching them no joke and can run the mile and blah blah blah but the thing is i think most people can play front and even tho speed helps alot its only useful if u know how to use it

I ran a 10.8 100 once during a charity competition and have run no more than 5.1 on the forty (my average is usually about a 4.9). With full gear on (about ten pounds in total, I use a sidearm and I run a remote coil) I can still hit these marks, I am a large guy. And thing is, sprint and endurance go hand in hand. I ran distance as well, I have clocked a mile at 5:40. It comes down to pacing your stride for both.

my fastest for the mil eis like 8 minutes i know crap, but i can hit 100 meters in almost 11, ALMOST... i get like 11.1 and that crap... but my point is in paintball u dont really need endurance... u never run more than 100 yards, cuz the field isnt even that long...

Just a hair under 8 minutes was my 1 mile run best. That hurt to do though. 100 meter I go something like 10.4 or something, still not the fastest on the track though. On the field however, with adrenalin, I run MUCH faster (at least in my mind :D ) The guys I play with are always saying "How do you move that fast?" There is one guy that I play with that matches me in speed, so I have some competition

Most of the time i can run a mile in about 6:30 but ive been try to improve that. in the 400 i ran i in about 1:05 but i think i can beat that now. i play sports like basketball to keep me in shape and have never had problems with endurence or any thing like that on the paintball feild.

I am not a frontman, and have not ran the 100 yard dash in 8 years. I do make the 50 or the 40 pretty regularly though. It surprises them to see a mid or back player sprint up the middle or flank. The trick is keeping as many bunkers in there I can.

id like to throw my hat into the ring. havent run a 100 in a while, but i did get 14's in 7th and 8th grade, now im a sophmore, so im guessing 12's. im definately fast though, cause i leg press 325lbs for 3 sets of 10.:D and all of that strenght only needs to propel a 130lb frame.

it doesnt matter if your real fast to be a front player, it just helps if you are fast. but to answer you question all the front guys on our team can run the 40 under 4.5 so we use it to our advantage and cover most of the field off the break.

Im 15 5'10 165 and my like 4.5-4.6 sumtin like dat and i play front cause im poor as all hell. I suck at long distance but for me endurance doesn't come into play so much in paintball i don't start to feel tired till like an hour after ive played o well works fo me
