let me do this Denis Miller style:

Ok, recently i made a perchase from JesterDude15. a minuite ago me and him were talking about people that sit behind bunkers and do nothing, and how they are usually newbies. Now i dont mean to get on a rant here, but does society make us pansies? Now it was Hobbs i think (i am brobably wrong) who said man is born savadge and bad. but is it bad to have natural instinct. I mean, is it bad to have the instinct to protect and be raging. When man enters society he gives away right to gain other rights. For instance, we give away the right to kill, to gain the right not to be killed. Now, if society is what makes us unsavadge and "civilized", is paintball our "savior" from the life of boring civilized society. I think paintball is a savior. i'm not saying that society is bad, just saying paintball is good for saving us from societies side effects. but thats just my opinion, i could be wrong.

let me know what u think america.........................or canada.....whatever.....

The problem with society today is that liberalism has become "chic". You are supposed to be PC and step on eggshells. **** that.

I think you have it backwards. I think (I have to be politically freaking crapping correct by saying "I think") that we are born good and society ruins our good nature and paintball is just a game we play not some savior from the world dragging us down. But i do agree with you on some points. In our culture today we are the objects of never ending phsyco babble which makes us "vent our rage" and "divorce anger". Its the overanylitic phyciatrists that make us afraid to show any emotion for fear of being analyzed as the next teenage killer. We play paintball because we can get away with shooting stuff and not be looked at as a nutcase (and its fun!). Thats my opinion. Being PC is crap and i hate the opinion of "everybody is right and nobody is wrong" which states there are no absolutes. I hate that!!!!!!! Screw politically correct.

I never thought about it before but that is one hell of a question. The survivor of the fittest mentalty has been trampled into the ground by various special interest goups. It now is politically incorrect to do anything that might hurt one groups feelings. Just imagine if they found out that the paint in paintballs caused frogs to be deformed (which is not true, just saying that to make a point). Our rights to play the game would be out the door, because of tree huggers. Our current society has become like what you said a bunch of left wing pansies, most of who are appaled by hunting, or for that matter even owning a gun. I play the game because it is fun, and I like the competition, not because I enjoy hurting someone by shooting them. But I think our general instincts are still intact. Look at the popularity of the tv show survivor, even though it is some what scripted, it appeals to those dark underlying survival instincts. I am with you bro. That is my opinion, and I might be wrong.

I just thought of something. Imagin what would happen if there was a school shooting by some kid. when the raded his house they found a bunch of paintball equipment. Paintball would be F*CKED. we would all lose our rights cause of sokme mental unsound idiot, and u know the our politicians would ban it cause it would get them votes next time they run. god, i cant wait for a politician with some balls to fight for our rights, but i guess that'll never happen. there is always other forces (money, power and sex being the major ones). i mean, look at what happened to Clinton, ok, the guy had an affair, but because he was our president he had to be holy. Like chris Rock said, He's not Pope Clinton, our presidents are supposed to be human, and humans make mistakes. and back to the school shooting thing, our society is so stuck to stereotypes, that we make them whenever somehting happens, so if one paintballer is a moron, we all are, or so says society. once again, however, i would like to satate i'm not anti-society, just see a few things wrong with the system.

There are always sports like Football and Rugby and such (basketball too) that I feel build up a lot more physical toughness than paintball

Doctorstox

Physical toughness, is not what i am talking about, i'm talking about raw pure instinct. what survival instinc do u use in baseball. adrenalin is not the same thing. tactics, and just the thoughts that come across. phsycal toughness can be gain by doing anything where u move your muscles, but instinct, that u have to born with, and i thinkwe are all born with it, but in some of us, it is supressed, guess by who.......

Very, very well said. Well, maybe well said isn't the right phrase, but I agree completely. I too believe in absolutes, that there is a definite right and a definite wrong in many situations (with exceptions, like favorites and things like that). Just because most southern whites believed in slavery back in the day didn't make it right. Just because the Romans believed that the head of the family (the father) had the right to do whatever he pleased with his wife and children, including to kill them, didn't make them right. Todays left-wing society really needs to get it's priorities straight. I live in a town called Merced, CA. We were going to get a new University of California right here in Merced, until they found out that there is a species of microscopic shrimp, called fairy shrimp, that lives on the land where the college was to be built. Now, they didn't know about them before, why should they miss them when they're gone?

Just because are natural RAW survival instinct is supposedly "supressed" doesn't make us pansies...

Just as a newbie plays paintball for the first time and doesn't do much to help himself~we put in a situation as alien to you as paintball is to the newbie, such as head of a large company. I'm sure you won't do so well either, seeing as how you have probably never been in a situation like that before and I'm sure you won't be doing much to help yourself either! It all draws upon that basic instinct to survive, and to survive in the world today you have to make $$$.
Just because people are not out there displaying that instinct in a situation as primal and as familiar to you as paintball doesn't make them pansies. If you go by that philosophy, than I'm sure you are a "pansie" in your own respect, just not paintball.
