Hy I just bought a never used Nitro Duck 68cu 3000psi fiber wrapped. when I went to the field and had it filled the first time the gage was at 3000 but like 2 minuts later the pressure was down to a little less than 2500 and I didn't even screw it into my gun yet. the gage stoped decreasing when it got a little past 2500. PLLLLEEEEAAAAS help me. do I have a leak? I put it to my ear but couldn't hear any thing. is this normal?? and if it isn't, do you know what is happoning?. Thanks alot.

dude i think it is ur reg. They need to be broken in at first. If you do not hear any thing comin out of the tank then it is not leaking. I bet that all u need to do is play with it. Go and when ur all most done with the tank oil it. Then refill. There is a possibilyity that ur gage is bad. I had one do that to me but then after that day the gage when crazy.. I took it in and had it replaced. I would play with it anyway just as long as it will fire u should be rockin and roleing!
i dont think its a leak, usually when nitro tanks are filled, they cool off (cause they are hot) and when that happens, they also lose pressure. maybe u experienced a bad case of cooling off/pressure drop on your tank. however the reg does need to be broken in, and you may always have some pressure drop in every tank, just screw ure tank in, and get it topped off ( filled to the max ) right before your game and ull be fine, its not as bad as it sounds

Yeah, that happens to all tank, don't worry. But it sounds like they suck at filling too if you lose 500 psi, just ask them to top it off.

should I ask after the tank has cooled?

ask them if you can fill it yourself. its what i do because i have seen new-to-the-field people just open up the valve to the tank. you have to let it in slow, maybe 100 psi in 2 seconds. that way it shouldnt get too hot and will only drop about 100-150 psi. also, fill it to about 3200 psi. yeah yeah, i know, it says do not fill over 3000. it is designed to be able to operate over the "maximum" pressure, and the pressure will drop to about 3000 when it cools. if you do what i say you will get 3000 psi fills everytime.
