sure u can:rolleyes: , withan rt you could shoot 10 maybe, but witha stock usually u are shooting about 5, 6, or 7 if you are fast, with mine when i ahd it i could shot 6
i have a slow triggerfinger does any one know how i can shoot faster without getting a rt?

Absolutley,
I chose to buy the Maddman spring kit instead of buying an RT kit. I installed the lighter sear and trigger springs for better response and the heavier main spring for cold weather (played in 40* F temperatures this morning).
I don't want to modify any of the internal gearworks just yet, and so looked for something more formal than the do-it-yourself trigger jobs discussed here and on other web sites.
The lighter springs works like a dream. I am not sure how fast I am shooting now, but its much faster than the normal 98c. Perhaps 6 or 7 balls a second. What I do know is that I now outshoot my regular VL200 hopper and have to be careful not to chop balls. I have used these springs now for the last three weekends.
The other thing that you may want to look into is a double trigger. Helps you shoot faster as well.
Guess its time for a revy for me. The Maddman kits run around $10-15. For that price you can't go wrong. Check ebay or countypaintball.com.

i have done a lot of mods to my trigger system and on top of that i have a really fast trigger finger so i am shooting around 7 and sometimes i can get it up to 8 for a couple of seconds on a good day

no i really did get 10 balls per second but average i get around 8 balls per second lol i had too much sugar that time i shot 10 balls per second

How do you know how fast you shoot without a LCD?
kingalls

I believe the standard method is making a reasonable guess at your rof, doubling it, and then making sure it is faster than anyone who has previously posted... Seriously, though, record the sound of yourself fireing, then use a digital music editor to count the number of relevant peaks for the noise profile in a second.

most chronos ( not the hand held ones) will do it also
as for my rof, alot slower since i got used to my cocker trigger and im not used to my m98 any more, but 6 or 7 if i had to guess, but unless you do an actual proven test ( either a chrono or music editing software) there really isnt a way to know

ok tape a stop clock to your hopper lid, put in 50 balls excatly, set timer for 5 seconds(or ten so you can get really and start firing at 5)then when the timer goes off stop shooting, count the number of balls in your hopper, then i think you divide that number by 50 im nto sure though

I just bought a tippy wit an ebolt for 125$ (sweet), but i can only rip like 9, maybe 10 on it, non consistently. With my friends stock tippy i can rip like 6. :D

I get around 6 or 7 right now..gonna mess with my trigger spring (yes, I only have one spring) and see what happens.
The trigger mods I did lowered my trigger pulled by so much..plus the double trigger will always help.

Well, i have acquired my own old black scratched to heck 98c. It had a double trigger on it, i can probably get about 6-8 on it on a good day, havent actually played with it yet. Just fun shooting at targets so far.

hahaha that would get pretty painfull shooting non stop for an hour unless you have a ebolt (which you could get like 36,000 bph) and a super megasized horendus hopper:eek:

I can probably get out 7-8 balls through my 98c a second. It's because I use a custom horizontal zip line fed clip/loader. It's designed to feed every paintball consecutivly just like an actual fire arm's spring fed clip. So I never shoot dry (atleast not until I'm out of balls). It's tough to hit the 8 ball a second mark unless I fire it like a tourny player. I'm actually quite surprised on how short the stock trigger pull is for a marker of this design...

I doubt that most of you get higher then 6 without fanning the trigger. BPS is the most exagerated thing ever. Go up to somebody who has a multiple modes gun and set it at 7bps. You will see that its much faster than you think. And for the guy who shoots "10bps" All I have to say is your full of <insert swear hear>.:D

i can shoot 6 or 7 bps over the chrono with my RT turned all the way off. Not bad. But then i got rig of my tippmann to get an imp. Sont know exactly what i can shoot with that but i know that its faster

Not to mention that it would cost $450 considering one case equals $50. Double that for the e-bolt.

when i first recieved my stock 98c i thought the exact same thing. with a single tirgger and some computer recording software on average in a "controlled situation" i could fire about 8 bps fanning the trigger. later with a double tirgger and rt the marker fired about 10bps when the rt was on its "sweet spot". currently with the ebolt my 98c fired a clean even 13 bps on full auto.

im dont no everything about an ebolt but im pretty sure you can set your rof, so shut your mouth and learn your facts

it wasnt a guess thing or over a chrono i used sound recording software on my computer.
with ebolt on semi with highest rate of fire i can fire about 10 bps. i could do better but theres alot of wasted play on the ebolt trigger. i need to imporvise a trigger stop of some sort to be able to shoot faster.

10bps is pretty fast. I can only pull 11bps on my friends angel...i can fan 13bps.

I was thinking the exact same thing. 6 could be about the max on a single trigger. I could see 7+ with a double trigger though.
If you want to fire faster without getting the RT, get a double trigger. With the M98s short and light pull, a double trigger will be very nice.

Confirmed...there is no way somebody could get 10 bps on a stock 98. And even if you could, your stock gravity feed hopper wouldn't feed that fast, and so you'd be chopping balls left and right.
Heck, I can only get about 10 bps right now with my Palmer Blazer. (Give me some time to get my trigger finger even faster...)

i can almost guarantee that you'll never be able to fire over 10bps with a blazer, are blazers fast? yes absolutely, is it still basically a cocker, yes. without an electro conversion on a cocker i doubt most people could shoot over 9 bps ( possibly with a hinge)
sorry man
adrenalinejunky
11-26-2002, 02:21 PM
1. i have a freind who can fan 11bps on a tippmann
2. gravity feeds at 13bps
3. from what i understand a blazer isn't basically a cocker, but there are people who can go faster than 10 a sec with that kind of trigger pull.

98/custom? w/o an rt or ebolt? unless you have an rt or an ebolt, that is out of the question. It may seem really fast but a tippmann cannot feasably shoot that fast. sorry.
I hardly ever but can shoot maby 8 with mine, topps and that is with a 2mm, lightened pull/2x trigger. That is very uncomfortable and akward.
holyhand, i have shot a completely mechanical cocker w/ hinge faster than 9. fanning the trigger it can be done.
holyhandgrenade
11-26-2002, 03:21 PM
how does anybody know how fast they can shoot? unless you have done a PROVEN method, there is no way to tell how fast you are shooting
adrenalinejunky:
w/o an rt/ebolt kit there is no way he can shoot 11bps, that is assuming it is actually being measured correctly, and there is no way balls feed at 13bps in reality, maybe if they were totally unobstructed, but they never can in real life, and a blazer is a cocker, it just has it parts arranged differently, ill be the first to defend a slider ( the type of trigger on a cocker w/o a hinge, and the kind that come on blazers) but for most people a hinge is way faster than a slider
xavier678:
i was assuming that people would not be fanning, but all the same, i should have phrased that sentence differently, with a hinge some people can do it but it isn't that terribly common without the trigger adjusted just to ones liking, and lots pf practice
The way i shot off a couple more bps was a simple double trigger. After a little practice....i was able to walk on the trigger with great ease, speed, and comfort. Nice upgrade.

yes a person can dry fire that fast but can they shoot paintballs that fast!
starboarder2001
11-26-2002, 07:49 PM
are u actualy shooting it over a chrono to see how fast u are shooting? 10bps is very fast and it is imposoble to pull 10bps on a stock tippmann or even one with a double trigger.
look at the image i attached I can pull 99bps on my friends angel!!! lol
Dude....it is physically impossible to pull 99 bps on any gun. Even if it is an angel.....thats just VERY VERY hard to freaking believe dude. Sorry but i dont by it.

Lol..look at his sig...he's got an Impy. I think if anyone had an Angel..they'd put it in their sig over an Impy (unless they loved that Impy like mad).

Technically HolyHandGernade...a Cocker is a Palmer Gun. Glenn Palmer inveted the pneumatic automation system, and showed it to Budd Orr, who then applied it to his own guns. So Glenn came up with it first...
So, no...A Blazer is not basically a cocker...ya got it backwards. ;)
Anyway...We'll see about whether or not I'll be able to get over 10 bps. We can all speculate all we want, but until it's actually done (or not done), all you have is...well...speculation.
So let's wait until I see whether or not I can pull that fast on My Blazer, ok? :D
Anyway...
Someone said gravity feeds at 13 bps.
BUNK.
Heck...even my Ricochet AK only claims 12 bps for normal use. (Ya might get lucky and get a bit faster...but...) And trust me, my Ricochet feeds MUCH faster then my old gravity feed hopper.
I can't believe some of what I"m reading here. 11 bps on a stock Tippy. Psh. Yeah. Whatever. Come on guys. You're making Tippmann owners look like idiots by making those kinds of claims.
Any reason this thread should stay open anyone? I don't see any productive discussion here...

When someone said 13 bps gravity feed, they most likely used a straight tube to test, not a hopper to cause the balls to get stuck. Anyway I have heard that too, Crime, how you like that Blazer? Read and downloaded the video of you getting it. Is it sweet or what? any major problems? Just wondering:D

yea, that guy is right. Gravity does feed at 13 bps max. That is in optimal conditions, no bottle necking to get into the feed tube. That is why you dont see any agitating loders that will feed over 13 bps. Once hey are in the feed neck, they will only fall that fast. YOu need a force fed loader like a HALO B or an EVO II to feed over 13.

right gravity can feed 13bps. But with the plain hoppers the balls jam up and cant feed near that fast. Have you ever filled your regular hopper and tried to see how fast it feeds. it is terrible.
