For anyone who remembers, I had this problem with a slow leak in my Impulse for many, many months and was begging for help. I even took it to SmartParts like three times and every time, they couldn't find it or said they didn't know what to do. So I just lived with the slow leak, cursing my marker every weekend. Then during World Cup, I decided to try again. This time, I got a different tech. It took a few minutes but he diagnosed that I had a leaking hammer assembly, possibly a bad o-ring inside the assembly. So, I replaced the old assembly which had a titanium hammer to a new assembly with a brass hammer and suddenly, my problems are gone. I can't begin to describe how happy I am to get it finally fixed. Let me tell you now that's fixed, my marker is surprisingly gas efficient. In one game, with a 4200 psi fill, I got 9 pods and a hopper with 1000 psi left over at the end of the game.

So anyway, my purpose in sharing all of this is so that anyone who has problems with gas efficiency or may have a slow leak, do yourself a favor and just get a whole new assembly. It does wonders.

I doubt its the new assembly thats causing your efficiency increase. Its probably the brass hammer. More than likely the brass hammer is a better weight for your setup then the ti was.

Unless the assembly was free, theres no point in getting a new one. You can buy some 50 cent orings and spend 10 minutes cleaning/rebuilding your old one, and have it work just as good.

Just my opinion though...

You're probably right. I just left out that the SmartPart techs stripped the crap out of my hammer cap so they couldn't unscrew it to get inside the assembly. But, I was so happy to finally get a solution to the leak that I would have paid just about anything to get it fixed.

If it's the hammer that is causing the dramatic increase in efficiency, then I recommend everyone who has a delrin bolt to get a brass hammer ASAP. If that's truly what's causing the improvement, then I can't begin to describe how worthwhile it is to buy the brass hammer.

I used to have to fill my 68/4500 tank after every game, even rec games. Now, I went through a whole day of play with just over 3,200 psi and never had to refill my tank and still had 1,500 psi left over for the day. Granted, I was purposely not shooting a lot of paint because I only had like 6 pods for the day, but still that's amazing.
