Today I received my M3 Sniper. I was concerned when I opened the box and saw an all black straight bore barrel and a black plastic trigger.

You can see the following product image on www.paintballgear.com Note it depicts a 2-piece barrel and a black plastic trigger.

You can see the same picture but with a chromed/nickel metal trigger on the box the Sniper comes in. Sorry, no pic of the box.

Anyway.... I called their tech department about my "problem" and they informed me the boxes were pre-printed prior to product completion and the Sniper does not come with the 2-piece barrel or the metal trigger. They referred me to the sales department to see if they would rectify the "problem".

The sales dept told me the same story and offered to send me a metal trigger. I complained that I did not get what I thought I had purchased and commented it was practically false advertising as places like paintballgear picture the marker with the 2-piece barrel. The sales guy put me on hold and after a few minutes with his sales manager said he'd send me the barrel and trigger via UPS. Great!

Just a note to any of you that order the Sniper... don't expect to get the metal trigger and 2-piece barrel! But feel free to call their sales staff and politely complain to see what they'll send you for free.

So far so good in M3 land!!! :)

Recieved my replacement trigger and 2-piece barrel in the mail today.

Trigger installed fine, though you REALLy have to whack it with a punch to losen the pin. The trigger certainly looks better, but to be honest I think I might like the feel of the plastic trigger better. The pastic trigger is a bit narrower and is rounded, the metal is wider and perfectly flat. The metal trigger seems to have reduced some of the forward travel, and I'm not sure I like it, I don't seem to get as much trigger bounce now.

The bore of the barrel has some small rough imperfections. I will probably phone them and request a replacement for the base. BTW it's a "real" 2-piece that requires you to screw the tip to the base. Also, the base has a slight yellow tint to it compared to the rest of the silver/chrome parts on my Sniper.

Actually, I probably will never fire a single ball through either barrel. I purchased a 10" J&J Edge kit for my M3.

i think this also applies to LEDs and LCDs, because many times they are pictured with a 2 piece barrel and metal trigger... first thing i do when i get LED is give M3 a call.:D
