it is my thinking that paintball was started by the government to make younguns (us) into pre-trained military drones to fight in their wars. i mean it teaches you weapons training, battle tactics, etc. and it mimics war. i dont really care if it is cuz its so darn fun to shoot people leagly hahaha. i guess the only reason im putting this here is because i have nothing better to do ( out of co2). but do you agree? does it cross your mind? or is this a waste of time.

1. It is not war, it is basically capture the flag with paint instead of flags

2. A paintball gun is a far cry from a rifle. No weapons training there.

3. There arent battle tactics in paintball it is the basic rules of survival, get a good spot and shoot them or be shot.

4. The government can never make something as efficient, as much fun, or well run as paintball.

Deep thought tho! lol

Some of the move in a paintball game would get you splattered in a REAL gun fight.

Hiding behind a tree or cable spool? Just shoot thru the thing and.............:(

That's why cops and the military actually avoid playing paintball unless it is in a VERY realistic setting.

I think i heard those who play violent realistic video games or play paintball has a better pistol, shotgun, and rifle shot then an average local cop. is this true?

anyway...for ever field here in kansas, it says the same thing on the waiver at the very top:

" PAINTBALL IS NOT A DANGEROUS SPORT, IF IT IS REPECTED AND PLAYED RIGHT! PAINTBALL, GENERALLY, IS A MORE COPLEX WAY OF PLAYING CAPTURE THE FLAG AND HIDE AND GO SEEK! "

so...paintball is hide and go seek and capture the flag..ok ppl?!?

sure is fun tho..and addciting..and expensive

how much does it really cost to make 2000 paintballs?

Not similar to war. War involves hand grenades as a major weapon once the ranges paintball shootouts occur at come into play. Engagements with real guns are over considerably larger distances. Moving in a real firefight is far more likely to get you killed, a bullet travels faster than a paintball after all. People dont snapshoot in wars. It just aint war man

If you want a comparison just go thorough boot camp Spyder Renegade. There is nothing fun about real War. Yes I am able to apply some of the tactices that they taught in boot camp, but in paintball like others have said those squad level tactics and force movments just wont carry. Us paintballers are to independant and we are there to have fun. There is no enemy waitng to really kill you and at they end of the day you always go home.
As for the governemt inventing paintball when was the last time the government invented anything fun???

the only thing, that ressemble War, are scenario games,

Guesswho?

Since paintball kicks some major butt then nothing bad can come out of it. If we will go to war and be forced to go to war then atleast we have training of combat.

hehe .. just went paintballing yesterday, and i read the waiver :D

..the point being...PAINTBALL IS NOT LIKE WAR. IT IS LIKE TAG AND HIDE AND GO SEEK ALL ROLLED INTO ONE!

I disagree with some people who have stated that paintball has become a game of hide and seek tag.. etc etc. Now thanks to industry supported tournaments, electro high firing rate guns, speedball (and its variants) -- people aren't interested in hide and seek tag wood sort of paintball. They're interested in lighting up 15+ balls on someone hiding behind cover who is scared of popping out and getting hit 3-5 times because he's wearing a thin shirt on a hot day. To the people who enjoy shooting 3+ rounds per second shouldn't even consider paintball a hide and seek tag game anymore but more of a trench warfare of sticking up, left, right and fire 5 shots then go back and repeat this till luckily a paintball will hit the opponent. If it was intentional that this sort of paintball would not resort to this doom of trench shootout.... Woods or Indoor.. etc shouldn't make a difference.. it should be wide spread on a large field and shouldn't be so tiny where people would do high rate of fire. And whose winning, are you making the win or is the paintball making industry winning by making you spend $50-70 bucks of 2000 rounds when you can get the same amount of action that I get when I spend $15 on 500 rounds of paintballs. I do woods and some do woods because they prefer a larger field.. although wood fields are getting smaller nowadays.. it's better than 150-200 foot speedball "tournament" fields. I'm all for removing the military look of camo wearing psychos but I'm all for the same for people who walk around wearing big lettered JT jerseys.. if you're cool with walking around with Nike t-shirts, Hilfiger sweaters.. .that's cool then. You're winning for the industry.

Remember man, i dind't say it. Its on the waivers. I don't think it is hide and seek or tag at all!!!! The fields here just put that on the waivers so that young players will not be scared, and to attract new players to the game.

And on the camo, i like speedball and i just wear 32* cargo pants and a 32* jersey (only reason i got a jersey is becaues its reversable, so i can change it black or white depending what team .. and for my local team i play w/)

but you have to admit, playing some scenario games or fox and hounds is fun in the woods once in a while. But it seems to me that camo = camping. camping = someone who truely isn't playing/enjoying paintball.

ANTI-CAMO SUPPORTER!! If you play paintball right, you don't need camo cause you will almomst always be moving.

But thats just my 2 cents..

Be careful what you say about paintball when you're talking to people who don't know much about it. We are already trying to get rid of the War Games type thing that everybody already thinks about paintball.

I'd HATE to bring this back onto topic but I have to, sorry. I'm trying to decide whether or not, if the government did start up paintball for some perverse reason, why did they make the paint so friggin expensive? You'd think, with all the money they waste (wasted money is called "pork") that they could save a little bit and make it easier for more of us little "soldiers of the future" to play. Ahhhh...then again, dude was right, there is no way the gov. could run something this good.

Remember this is the same govenment who writes tax code and enviromental code. Can you imagine all the rules we would have if the govenment had made paintball. EX:

Section 5
Paragraph 3
Subparagraph 1

The player haveing been marked or hit, with a mark or hit being of such propers size as to be considered marked or hit shall only be marked or hit if said mark or hit shall be of the same color as that color having been assigent to the team opposite the player haveing marked or hit if that mark or hit has been form the marker of the opposing team in a sactioned time of play or practice.

THink about how long the rules would be just for rec gagmes. As for the whole cammo thing. I wear my cammos because you or your loving parents taxes gave me all my stuff free. :)

no offence to anyone but i hate people. they take everything so seriosly and dont see the humor in anything they dont undestand that i am just trying to get across a point dont be an idiot and take everything so literally. i dont mean to sound hypocritcal about saying i hate people but its only some people that make me mad.

Ded
06-26-2001, 12:17 PM
yeah, that makes sense. how many of you go out to play paintball and don't eve get it into your mind that it's fun to shoot people legally, if you don't then there's no fun in the game. that's what the whole game is, shooting people legally.

hey renegade,

in your sig it says 18volt revvy.. now most 12v revvys take 2 9v revvys, but this doen'st mean that 18v is going into the revvy..only 12, but 6 is left over.

i dont think they make revvys that take 18v into the revvy

am i totally wrong on this?

Halliday
06-26-2001, 02:05 PM
Actually, you CAN mod a Revvy to run off 18v. It's just runs down the motor faster.

AllOleander
06-27-2001, 09:34 AM
Does it feed faster? how much faster?

Why would anyone modify it to 18v?

SpydrRenegade311
06-27-2001, 09:38 AM
my 18 volt is a 9 volt modified to use 2 batteries. i also changed the prop in it to one i made that has 4 arms insted of 2 short ones. its cool

it's just flashlight tag/capture the flag all over again. Even without markers capture the flag is like trench warfare, as there are defined safe boundaries, and most just huddle around those, defending. I wear a camo jacket because it was free and stops hits nicely, it even has my last name on it, nifty! Ghillie suits and the like are just funny though..........
