If i were you i would just upgrade to become low pressure. I would just save up and get a cocker if your gonna save for somethin that costs that much.

One of my teammates has an ELCD frame, and it impressed those of us with Defiant's, BM2K's, and Angels. Really cool!

wonder what would happen if you hooked your car battery to an elcd will you get super duper deluxe hyper warp speed trigger (Hey it could happen despite the fact that carrying a heavy *** car battery would suk)

SmartBall

It would shoot so fast, it would break EVERY ball! unless you hooked your revvie up to the car baterrie! Imangine that, a gun shooting like 40 balls a second, ha!

ELCD is a complete waste of cash. For the cost of the ELCD on a Spyder and the combined cost of your gun you could get a much better Cocker that you wouldn't have to upgrade have as much and it would be twice as good.

Pimp2fine
02-06-2001, 01:17 PM
yeah but then i would have to sell my gun and buy a new one that wouldn't be electric.

Richy_C
02-06-2001, 01:19 PM
and that's y we have impulses

Pimp2fine
02-06-2001, 01:21 PM
yeah and from what i here the impulse has a really sloppy trigger pull.

Predator2
02-06-2001, 01:22 PM
well a combined amount of cash for the spyder and the elcd would be around 400-450 bucks....just get sell the spyder and get a cocker for 350 bucks. In my opinion.

Richy_C

only sloppy w/ the prerealeses, the 300 models have been fixed

My buddy got his ELCD for $200 and his spyder for $100... $300 total, and I was truly impressed with the performance, no ball breaks at 15bps on full auto. I'm not trading my Defiant in on one, but they aren't as bad as people are saying.

Well Said Monk!!! point n fact of the matter is I don't own one and NEVER have shot one so I dunno but doesn't soulike too bad a gig 300 for a full auto with enhanced fire ... even if the rumor about sear wear is true a sear is what 6 bucks and further a stiker is 15-20 ???? and would need to be replaced say once a year????? Gimme a break I waste that much at sheetz gettin chili dogs :P but just the same for real I hate when people jump on the band wagon and goin bashing something they don't have and have never used.Because frankly there are alot of stuff I use that got bashed in a couple different instances yet I came up smiling while other came up disappointed so don't knock it til you try it...

i've used both the Boo yaah and the Centerflag versions of the lcd frame...i do like the Centerflag better...but i really was impressed with the performance of the two grips...i kept up easily with other EP markers...i say if you LOVE spyders/Piranahs, go get one..although your gun does have to be LP or it will wreak havoc.

Impulse is a real good gun and I'd definately think twice before saying anything bad about one. Even with one of the models that had the sloppy hell trigger, they're still a joy to shoot. I was actually lookin at the impulse before going with my intimidator, and it's one of the few guns that will perform as well as other guns running nitro, while running CO2.

Richy_C
02-07-2001, 12:35 PM
i proudly admit II"MM TOO CHEAP FOR NITRO HAHAHHAHAHA

Pimp2fine
02-07-2001, 01:21 PM
Yeah i agree with richy_c nitro to darn expensive. and what would hapen if it wasn't lp?

Predator2
02-07-2001, 01:37 PM
yeah i agree nitro is expensive if you want a good tank its as much as my spyder SE....ITS CRAZY! but i guess if i had the money and was going to fucus on paintball a lot i would get one.

the pmi energy 68 3000 steel is great lowend, but i think mawflows are the best high end

TL : your semi correct on the ELCD vs LP gun.. Mine was bone stock when i added the grip, worked 100% fine except flucuating fps levels (normal with co2) went to HPA and works fine... LP is an added bonis to having this gun since your quieter

TLplus84
02-07-2001, 03:50 PM
ahh ic ic I stand corrected. I guess it's because when i tried out both grips, the spyders they were attached to were LP, and the owners sed they didn't like it till they went lp..hrmm..

Here's something for you ALL to concider.. Nitro vs Co2 prices...

Nitro : tank $200-$400 for a decent one
Fills : $8 for ALL DAY (usually around where i play)

OR Scuba Tank (3200 Psi) WITH 36 FREE FILLS!!!
$130 + tax, and a few other things.. $165

now how much is it to FILL a scuba tank you ask... $3-10 at ANY local DIVE or WELDING supply shop..

co2 = $29-$50 for tank.
co2 fill = roughly $3-$15 (15 is all day air)
co2 FILL station = $50-$99
co2 Fill Tank $150
co2 FILL tank, fill $15-$60

Look at your math here.. Nitro is obviously a better, CLEANER supply gas, has no shoot down affects like co2 does. plus it's actually cheaper in the long run ?

Up front costs suck, but look at the long term advantages..

OH and kiddies.. check this out.. here's a bit of news for you who think only HPA tanks have to be certified..

BY DOT (department of Trasnportation) ALL Pressure carrying canisters SHALL BE INSPECTED AND CERTIFIED according to their manufacturing. Whens the last time you read the little paper that comes with a co2 tank.. mine has to be checked in 4 years...

actually..nitro does have shootdown. The reg can't recharge fast enough sometimes, so shootdown is capable, but yeah...not reallylike CO2. Nitro by itself does not have shootdown, but the reg that is used does

Richy_C

mmmmmmmmmm max flows mmmmmmmmmm if you out shot one of those you're shooting to much! lol

Crisis

Richy : yep pretty much.. if you out shoot a max flow, your using too much paint. and your finger is moving faster then an epileptic siezure.

TLplus84
02-08-2001, 04:51 PM
LOL good point

Crisis

In a shootdown issue, your talking 2 different worlds between HPA and Nitro..

Nitro = reg can't recharge fast enough.

co2 = Gun parts actually freeze, when co2 freezes, no more gas, loss of pressure to charge period.

i can get my middle finger to spase out, and thats what scares my for electros, lack of control on my part, i'd rather play safe than outa control and win

Pimp2fine

I really want the elcd I think it would be worth it for my Spyder Shutter.

Crisis

Pimp : Nitro filling is SIMPLE if your running 3000 psi tanks. if your running higher psi then 3000, you need a power unit to boost the scuba tanks output up to 3500 or 4000 that will get espensive..

Co2 filling is fairily simple, but can get complicated and down right dangerous if you don't know what your doing. I suggest not doing your own co2

Paintkiller : the Boo-Yaah elcd is great if you have the skill to use the guns capabilites when you add the grip. A electro will not make you a better player. but it will give a good player an edge of a smooth pull on a trigger that will not waste his effort on trying to retain aim, and allows for faster firing rates, which always helps
