In my opinion, a spyder. Ive shot them both, and i perosnally like the both, and the spyder is easier to upgrade. Go with the psyder compact or tl plus or shutter, there all great guns. Tippmans are good, but i personally like the spyders.

Spyder, i wouldn't recommend the Shutter b/c the regulator is placed before the expansion chamber. This is bad b/c the regulated air will be disturbed by the expansion chamber. Go for the TLPlus

I recomend the tippmann model 98.
1.I have one and it is great never broken.
2.tippmann has great customer service.
The spyder is also a great gun I had this same decision when buying my gun. They are also relatively low priced guns also.

spyder all the way but i would buy a tl plus over the shutter, i had to learn the hard way. the tl+ is very easy to upgrade and is pretty much the same gun for a cheaper price:)

the electronic kit is from psycho ballistics and its lp and very accurate and fast right out of the box but it is expensive around $450 bucks give or take but id shoot it over my mag.

Well this is a tough one I have shot both guns since my brother has the spyder tl+ and i have the Model 98 custom now everyone says how the tl+ is so easy to upgrade but i mean just look at the name of the m98 CUSTOM the m98 and the m98 custom are 2 not so diffrent guns so if your gonna get the m98 get the m98 custom

As for the m98/m98 custom and the tl+ i would go for the m98 custom because when i was in a game with me and my friends i started rapid firing with my brothers tl+ and the balls got jammed and everthing thats probably why the tl+ is easy to field stip just pull the pin out clean it and your done (although i didnt want to fool around with my brothers gun since i never field stipped it before and i didnt want to buy him a new gun since i woulda messed up his gun) with the m98 i have never had a ball break or anything i use the same size and brand of balls in both guns it could be that the bore size doesn't fit with the tl+'s barrel but im not sure it was small bore proball paint the same thing i use with my m98 custom

If your going to take aim when u shoot get the m98 custom because the power feed is in the way of the sight on the tl+ but this can be fixed by getting a new sight rail for the tl+ (i think)

Basically i tend to like the m98 custom better than the tl+

personally, i suggest a ext or an sts, very nice guns, same as spyders, look goo, shoot smooth, and no weird offset holes, just try them all

I perfer spyders.....If you will do a lot of upgrades to your spyder like new valve, bolt get the compact2000 if not get the tl+...stay away from the SE and shutter I learned to stay away from the SE the hard way.........Tippmanns are overrated...

okay......no offense....but this is yet another stupid question. i think the 2 most used guns are the spyder and tippman. in my opinion, i love my tippman. my front door neighbor has a spyder while i have a tippman. we've switched guns, and i just simply like my m98 better. the trigger is lighter, faster...AND MY GUN NEVER BREAKS BALLS! like...one time i played a game with his spyder, and every time i tried to rapid fire i would bust a ball...he even had a bigshot...and my tippman...sometiems i fire like....20-30 balls at a time....and none breaks even with my stock barrel. its amazing. also..the tippman is so durable. i like....drop it while im running...and its fine. like....spyder....i cant trust to well, feels like its gonna break if i drop it, and yet my tippman...i love its heft and its durability. again...u can screw my opinion...there are sooooo many frickin questions about da spyder or tippman...i think u should at least try out each gun, see which one u like. they feel totally different...and its all personal preference

Your right... Tippmans ARE better (in my opinion, and i've owned spyders for 4 years now!). THis weekend i brought my spyder to a game with me, and i had a nitro setup on it (I was playing in the pococnos) so the gun wouldn't freeze up and... Well lets make a long story short, IT DIDN'T WORK!
So i had to take a rental gun out (too bad i depended souly on my spyder). It was a tippman model 98. When i picked up this hunk-o-junk, my first opinion was "oh man my spyder has a boomstick and a nitro setup and this has what! a scratched and rusted body, an old dinked and scratched 20 oz. Co2 tank, and something i could of made in my shed on the front of it (barrel if you didn't guess).
When i shot it i was wowed! it shot very consistant over the chrony, and read something like this-256, 254, 260, 254.
Amazed i gave it a second chance. and hey it worked VERY well for being stock! I own a M98 but it is used and well the person before did something to it, and it doesn't seem to work that well now... I based my opinions of Tippmans of the one i owned. When i shot that rental one, i realized why most feilds rented them over spyders, They're REALLY DEPENDABLE!
Just my 2 cents, but i vote for Tippmans over spyders, stock that is, ANY DARN DAY!

My opinion would be is to get the tippmann because its durable and can take many falls to the ground. But it is hard to field strip. The spider im not to sure about. But all in all the tippmann is much better. It is very accurate and can upgrade easly same with the spyder. But the customer service for tippmann is excellent cause you can send them your gun and they will fix it for free. And for spyder they wont fix it cause kingman is to cheap to do so. If you want a good good gun that shoots great easy to upgrade everything you can think of get the m98.

What exactly is wrong with the SE ? Everybody tells me not to buy one and says its crappy, but almost all the reviews give it very high scores, and in an older thread, it was at the top of everybody's list among similarly classed guns. What is the problem ? Is it better than a Bruizer Bandit II ? Somebody is selling an SE with a CP 16" barrel and rear cocking for $150, would that be a smart purchase ? What are other guns in that class ($150-$200) that are better ?

Were you answering my question, or saying you like them better than Spyder & Tipp.'s, or both ?

if your hardcore on the camo anod. get the SE but the reason everyone doesn't like it is cuz it's really hard to up grade... you can't put a dropforward on the stock cuz of the hard line.... and you can't buy a bottomline and put it into the X-chamber cuz no threads.....so if you were to want alot of upgrades the extra money you paid for the x-chamber and hardline would go to waste....If I were to start over buying a gun again I would get a Compact 2000 java red w/ bottom line and jack it out

well x, spyder and fishies (pirahnas) are good for speed ball, the 98 is not, way to long, for the situatio, pick the gun, rember the alamo! j/k, but fishies ove spyders if you have the option, i'd take a java spyder over a vlt fishie, but an sts over a tl (+) and but not over a shutter, but the psi is the best fish in the water lol

Skippy 8, Actually its easy to upgrade. you just need to get a regulator and get a macroline or steel braided hose and setup a drop forward. When you want a new gun, you can just save your macroline, Regulator, and drop forward and sell the gun as is.

I think it depends on the type ball you play. If you mostly speedball than I would go with the spyder. Smaller and alot of upgrades. Its a good marker. But if you play mostly woods the 98 with the flatliner is a very good choice. The long ball is a nice weapon, and the length of the marker is not near as a big deal. Both are good but like I said I think it's more what you are giong to use it for.
