right now i have a 16" tru-flight barrel...i got it because i was low on money andf i wanted a barrel... i know that the teardrop is a very good barrel and is quiet for about 60. does anyone know anyother barrels that will go the distance and still silence my M3 Black Dragun for about $60?

You could also look into the progressive. Its bassicly the same thing as the teardrop but a little cheaper.

Go to paintballgear.com. They have Progressives for $22. By the way, what the hell compelled you to buy a Tru-Flight???

Tru flights are worse than most stock barrels! BTW my friend has a teardrop on his tippy.... It kinda sucks...

I have a teardrop, and it is good. Most barrels around the 60 dollar range are gonna be about the same as long as they are made by a good company. If you want to buy a barrel consider the bore size of the paint you use and the paint your field uses, that should be what your decision is based upon, I picked teardrop cause it fits the bore sizes of all the paint I use. If it suits you buy teardrop, different barrels with same bore size makes little to no difference as long as they are made well.

Yeah itd be a good idea to upgrade from a truflight, its something though. Uh, you can check out custom products. Theyre around 50 bucks at www.paintballgear.com I have a 14 inch teardrop on my 98 custom and it makes the gun hecca quiet. So consider that first and if theyre out of stock of you just dont like it, go for the CP One-Piece. good luck

i dunno why i bought a tru-flight i just wanted a barrel soooo bad and i was low on money. What barrel silences just as much or more then the teardrop and is just as accurate and cost around the same. does custom products silence the gun at all? what about progressive....that a good barrel?

Yes, the progressive is good. If you want to know if a barrel helps silence just look at a pic of it and see if it has alot or a little bit of porting. The more the porting, the quiter. Thats why the Lapco Bigshot sound like a cannon.

Teardrops are good but are really annoying to clean. I had one for awhile but sold it. Custom Products barrels are really nice and aren't to pricey.

Ya i had a black dragun for a while, and the teardrop i had on it was way more accurate than the stock and also i noticed it did quiet down from the stock because of all the porting
I never had a CP barrel but my friend did oh his gun and it will quiet it down just as much as the teardrop

There's a new version of the Tru-Flight barrel. On ebay they now offer the " QUIET TRU-FLIGHT BARREL " with the little holes for silencing. I have a 14" tru-flight and I'm going to get the 14" tru-flight quiet barrel soon.
Originally wanted to get a teardrop barrel but, looking at the way the silencing holes are set up compared to this barrel, the teardrop barrel looks like it'll be a pain to clean out in the field when a paintball paints the inside of the barrel. I'd have to actually leave the field to clean it.
This tru-flight, using one of those carpet tipped squeegees, is so easy to clean. Going to get a squeegee holder so I can clean this sucker on the field, since it's so easy.
WARNING: Those jerk squeegees probably don't work too welll, I looked at it and thought about it was well as heard people complain about how hard it is to get into the grooves. I know those people that complained used a jerk (plastic circle pull through) squeegee because the carpet tip squeege works so easily.
