Go on ebay, and you can find great deals, even though some are used, the're in fine conditions. That's where I got mine

My vote goes for a G3 STS

You can't really get a much better gun for $200. It's not worth it. The only thing would be a Model 98 with a good barrel, but it's not really a big step up.
My recommendation is to sell your gun and get an AutoCocker. You can get one at http://www.paintballgeeks.com for $325. The Cocker blows away every other gun under $500. It's also one of the few upper end guns that can run on CO2. If you put the best barrel you could find on your gun, and tricked your spyder out, a stock Cocker straight out of the box would be more accurate.

just add some stuff to your compact 2k. its a good gun, just upgrade it.

There no sense in buying another blowback if you already have a perfectly good blow back... Do what pr0k said, but upgrades. Get a good barrel, a good bolt, drop forward... or you could screw those save up another $50 and get a Boo Yaah electro grip.

I'd agree with FSU. IF /you/ like the feel of 'cockers, and the way they shoot, etc, I'd save up to buy a new stock one. Only thing I would do different is buy a CenterFeed body instead. They're only ~$100 more, and I can't stand to play without them.
If that's not an option, just put some accesories on you compact. Of course, if you really want a new gun, I'd go with a G3 (I like the faded reverse brush stroke one myself, but it's over $200) or a tippmann.

i think a 98 custom is awsome. i put a revvy on mine and i am getting a smart parts AA. the trigger pull is very light.
that is what i say but i dont know i heard piranahas were good out of the box guns.

i bought a Piranha EXT about 6 months ago and it was ready right out of the box. i think it is an upgrade to the compact, but like someone else already mentioned, you'd be better off either putting upgrades on the compact or just saving up to buy a cocker or something. i got a nice cocker off ebay about a month ago... EVERYTHING on it.. drop forward, nitro, dye barrel, and tons more.. for about 450$ and it works like a charm. it's excellent. ebay is the way to go.

whats on your gun now? if u dont have a barrel, get a good cheap barrel like tear drop, or i have heard j&j's are good (lapco is the best but they are hard to find) then get a nitro tank and a nice drop. your gun would be way better than buying a JT or just a new spyder and it would be WAY better than a m98
