I've seen them, but I don't know exactly what they do. I've heard several different descriptions, but I want to know what they really do, and if they're worth buying or not.
thanks

As far as I am aware, the only commercially available grens are made by Tippmann. You can see the mixed reviews on this site, but they generally show it as not very good and very unreliable.
I think that they work from hitting a hard surface at speed. What happens is that ball bearings in the ends of the tube are shot out by the pressure, and the paint then gets sprayed out as a result. Good idea, no explosives involved to hurt people and a suppossed 5m range. The problem is that they are expensive, expecially considering that you are never sure if they will work.

They come out with Bouncing Betty paint grenades. I read it in one of my APG issues. I heard they jump like 6 feet in the air or somethin like that.

paint grenades are good if your playing urban warfare but not in the woods. they dont explode right because they have to hit a hard surface to work.....great for clearing out rooms tho

i bought two grenades once. i used them and all they did was shoot paint in a straight line for about 20 feet . bottom line they suck and are expensive. dont even bother wasting your time using them they dont explode they just run in a straight line. i agree with silk there only good for urban paintball.

From what I've seen they work okay on open fields, but in the woods they are just a waste of money.

I don't like them. I have found that you have to throw them high in the air to get them to splat when they hit the ground. Not good for heavy trees
