sent a letter to the editor to APG. Having a borinng sunday.

Tell me watchya think.

This is for all you guys who say a good gun doesn't make a good player. Tell me, does the average outlaw player start out with a brand new shiny angel or even just a spyder compact? Well in the cases I’ve been involved in, no. 90 percent of the people I’ve played with started with a talon or something of the sort. Now, how do you think the quality of your marker affects your confidence? A lot. Say you get your *** wupped good using a pump in your first paintball game ever. Do you think the same would have happened if you had used a semi-auto gun? While it easily could've, the chances of it are greatly reduced. The difference between using two different guns with separate types of action is not only how it operates, and the ease of use. The quality of your marker greatly affects your confidence in yourself and your game. I must say, I was scared ****less my first game looking at all the other kids with there spyders and stingrays (hey, even a stingray's intimidating when you're using a talon). It being my first game, I didn't have much of a game plan. While I probably should've laid low for a while and only strike at open opportunities, I just followed my teammates and fired blindly. That day I was hit a good 10 or so times. The next time I played, I rented a spyder. Needless to say I felt pretty good about myself that day and about the forth-coming game. That day I eliminated three people and was never eliminated. Sure, your experience and practice certainly reflects in your gameplay, but if you feel your gear is on par with everyone else, you're not half as intimidated or scared, and more willing to go out and put up a good fight. So all you guys yakin' about how you take out guys with cockers and angels with your pump gun, good for you, but you can't expect a newer player to do the same. My $.02

I agree completely :) A good marker makes for a good player. Set me up against the best player in the world, give me his angel and him my Talon, and watch me whoop his @$$ hard. The gun makes all the diff. Of course, once you have the gun, then you need that lil' bit of strategery that keeps you alive.

This question is like another famous question, which came first the chicken or the egg? What you're saying is partly right but a pro with a talon will just come up behind the newbie with his xxx marker (xxx means angel or intimidator or shocker etc.) and while the newbie is crouched behind his bunker he'll take one in the a$$. Just remember the old saying 'one shot one kill' That said, I don't want to play with a talon. I'd take semi or fully auto any day.
