goggle skinzz
got a question here my buddy got the camo goggle skins and they looked good but there is a major proble associated with them.....apparently they go over the outside of the lense and they are perferated (sp) meaning they have a billion tiny holes so you can see but from a few feet away they make the lense look camo
here is the problem you get shot in the goggles your skrewed...its impossible to wipe the paint off your mask...is there any other product out there for goggle skinzz that uses tinting instead of the hole method.??? |
You could always paint the mask camo. I did that to one of my old masks and it came out pretty good. But I don't know of any other mask camo systems that actually covers the lense.
|
he already painted the mask camo but he doesnt much like the reflectiveness of the lense....guess he just has to deal with it
|
I use to have a skin on 2 of my masks (gave a weird white glare inside my mask when it was really sunny). Just use a wet paper towel and blot it out, works fairly well.

I looked into goggle skinz, and was SOOO close to ordering it over the phone.... then I read alot of bad reviews. Of how the paint will sit in the pockets fo the holes... and how its hard to wash out unless you really soak it in water. And also how if you get gogged.. it could tear up the skin sticker... and you're screwed. My idea was to buy it, and stick in the inside of my goggles... but that idea went down the hole when I called Goggle Skinz and they told me that the sticky side was black... not camo. So I figured... they compare looking through it... to looking through a screen window. So why not just use a screen window, cut it to the right size, and stick it in the inside of the lens? On one side, I spray painted the camo pattern I wanted...on the other side I painted it black. My vision is fine. It takes a couple of minutes of playing, and I dont even realize its there anymore. It gives my vision a slightly darker tint... but my vision is clear.
Here is a picture ![]() |
See the back of mine skin was white, thats where the glare came from. Light would get in the vent holes on the top of my mask and reflect off of the white side back into my face.

that screen door idea is kickin....i will let him know about that!!!
*edit* now its not showing the pic |

You should make a tutorial for painting your mask and making the lense cover. Great work! |

Hey,http://www.attacc.com/acatalog/Attle..._Clothing.html
Look at the head nets on that page,i use those alot in woods. And u can fix them where they go over the lense and only slightly hurt ur vision.I use it sometimes like that.So this may be wut u want, cuz its cheap/and u can pull it over ur lense till someone spots u,then once they do wip it down for complete vision. It may cause a lil foggage(maybe)and u cant take it off during a game unless ur visor is removed from ur mask.Go look at wal-mart,b/c they have EVERYTHING,nah>cuz thas where i got mine.Hope this helps! |

You just upped a really, really old thread. But what you did is a pretty cool idea.
|
you have to think, is it better to up an old thread and then have the threat of it being closed, or get yelled at by other users for not searching. id prefer this way.
