What kinds of matrices are out there?
 

This is not a end all list. There are a few intentionally left off because I don't know jack about them. If you want to add, go for it, if you want me to add in my post, PM me the info.

I'm linking pics to some of the more rare matrices, but not sure how long I'll be able to host them for, we'll see how much bandwidth gets used up. I've also given proper credit to the site I found the image on. The data has been gathered over the last 2 years, and I in no way claim it to be 100% free of errors. Only thing I ask is let me know if something is wrong and I'll be happy to edit the post.

Stock Matrix LCD
– LCD board as the name implies (has a graphical display, settings are controlled through this display, 3 buttons on the grip frame instead of 1 on the LED
- Has a different solenoid than the LED

Stock Matrix LED
- LED board as the name implies, setting made by adjusting 4 dipswitches inside the grip frame, 1 button on the grip frame
-Has a different solenoid than the LCD

-no lpr standard

-not custom milled
-price tag of around $700, assuming you can find one new.
-Comments: none

-Custom LED board (features Anti Bolt Stick technology, trigger debounce adjustment, eye logic and other general improvements over the stock LED board)

-PBC lpr
-aced – TMC/Trauma break beam eye

-Free Flow bolt kit (some say they got their with an image kit and a freeflow bolt, not sure the validity of these claims)

-Older ones not aced, I’ve heard freeflow now has eyes for the trix and it is a free upgrade

-comments: quite possibly one of the sickest trixes out there, comes with cp hpr, ccm clamping no rise, and dye ul barrel. Thought to be one of the fastest matrices made to date, limited color availability

Ironmen Matrix

-aced – Gen-e eyes
-custom milled with ironmen logo
-price tag: $1300-$1400
-Comments: One of the few and the first LCD matrices in a 45 frame with eye logic controls, the left air chamber has been milled off, completely, to lighten it up. Grip frame is moved slightly forward compared to stock matrices. Custom 2 piece breach. The only colors these were made in was black with red accents, to my knowledge.

Tequila Matrix/Tequila Sunrise Matrix www.aardvarkdirect.com

-custom milling – so many variations
-price tag of around $1200
-Comments: Tequilas, Tequila sunrises, and entities all came in waves. There were about 15 tequilas produced, 50 or so Sunrises produced and 17 entity trixes produced. The signature milling is the partially exposed bolt with a lexan window cover and the aardvark milled onto the side. Sunrises also had a sunset milled in (I think they all did). The manifold is higher flowing, and the grip frame is aardvark custom version, came with the alligator trigger.

-very custom milling with an octopus and the ironmen logo, and an aardvark milled in. Same bolt exposure and lexan window as the tequila
-price tag was around $1500 new, but they were only made for the SC ironmen
-comments: very sought after matrix, each one was anno’d differently in essence making all 17 a 1 of a kind. Very similar to the tequila save for LCD. Tentacle trigger included.

-comments: you send your matrix to demon for some custom milling. They can do any type of milling you want, they’ll mill off the dead air chamber in your matrix, mill in text, logos, etc. Not too much on them out there.

where does the Gen E fall into this?

Gen-E came out with the original matrices, such as the LED and slideswitch models. Nothing bad about them, they're just some of the originals.

Im really diggin the Trauma, Demon and toxic trixes, very sexy.

found out today that there are actually 17....entity matrix's, not the originally and popularly thought 12.

Demon is an intersting alternative for those who truly want a custom matrix. I'm talking to them now about having my led milled with a 1 of a kind design and anno'd in a color never before seen on a 'trix. I'll let you all know if it comes through.

I think they are pretty hott. Thats right, hot with 2 t's.

the pic thread might be down for a bit, I'm setting up some new boxes and the old ones are going straight to game server hosting. So for now, they're getting put on village but who knows how long that'll last.

i know this is an old post but i was wondering if i bought a led matrix the only differnce i would have to worry about compared to the lcd matrix in its performance is the solinoid and the bolt?

please let me know and if you can does these few little upgrades make much of a difference in the guns performance?
i have no idea what the differnce in the solinoid does


o yah and does the lcd shoot faster or anything?

actually, Airtech made the first matrix, which the prototype was actually fully mechanical...then went to electro when it was released to the public, in which Diablo then distributed the matrix, and after Diablo was when Gen-E stepped in.

wow, this thread is in serious need of an overhaul..
