What kinds of matrices are out there?

This is not a end all list. There are a few intentionally left off because I don't know jack about them. If you want to add, go for it, if you want me to add in my post, PM me the info.

I'm linking pics to some of the more rare matrices, but not sure how long I'll be able to host them for, we'll see how much bandwidth gets used up. I've also given proper credit to the site I found the image on. The data has been gathered over the last 2 years, and I in no way claim it to be 100% free of errors. Only thing I ask is let me know if something is wrong and I'll be happy to edit the post.

- not aced
- not custom milled
- price tag of around $900-$1000 new
-Comments: none

Stock Matrix LED

-Some have trinity lpr, newer ones have pbc lpr
-Custom egi eyes
-custom milling, “punisher”
-price tag of around $1300-$1400 new, unsusre of availability
-comments: quite possibly one of the sickest trixes out there, comes with cp hpr, ccm clamping no rise, and dye ul barrel. Thought to be one of the fastest matrices made to date, limited color availability

Ironmen Matrix
-LCD board
-Image bolt kit
-PBC lpr
-aced – Gen-e eyes
-custom milled with ironmen logo
-price tag: $1300-$1400
-Comments: One of the few and the first LCD matrices in a 45 frame with eye logic controls, the left air chamber has been milled off, completely, to lighten it up. Grip frame is moved slightly forward compared to stock matrices. Custom 2 piece breach. The only colors these were made in was black with red accents, to my knowledge.

Tequila Matrix/Tequila Sunrise Matrix www.aardvarkdirect.com
-LED board
-Aardvark red Bolt kit
-Trinity lpr
-not aced
-custom milling – so many variations
-price tag of around $1200
-Comments: Tequilas, Tequila sunrises, and entities all came in waves. There were about 15 tequilas produced, 50 or so Sunrises produced and 17 entity trixes produced. The signature milling is the partially exposed bolt with a lexan window cover and the aardvark milled onto the side. Sunrises also had a sunset milled in (I think they all did). The manifold is higher flowing, and the grip frame is aardvark custom version, came with the alligator trigger.

Aardvark Entity Matrix www.aardvarkdirect.com
-LCD board
-aardvark red bolt kit
-trinity lpr
-not aced
-very custom milling with an octopus and the ironmen logo, and an aardvark milled in. Same bolt exposure and lexan window as the tequila
-price tag was around $1500 new, but they were only made for the SC ironmen
-comments: very sought after matrix, each one was anno’d differently in essence making all 17 a 1 of a kind. Very similar to the tequila save for LCD. Tentacle trigger included.

Demon Matrix http://www.demonguns.com/
-board unknown
-image bolt kit

-milling is their primary custom feature

-comments: you send your matrix to demon for some custom milling. They can do any type of milling you want, they’ll mill off the dead air chamber in your matrix, mill in text, logos, etc. Not too much on them out there.

Gen-E came out with the original matrices, such as the LED and slideswitch models. Nothing bad about them, they're just some of the originals.

hybrid-sniper 05-09-2004 12:02 PM

Very nice.
Im really diggin the Trauma, Demon and toxic trixes, very sexy.

chibissj 05-09-2004 02:33 PM

Demon is an intersting alternative for those who truly want a custom matrix. I'm talking to them now about having my led milled with a 1 of a kind design and anno'd in a color never before seen on a 'trix. I'll let you all know if it comes through.

chibissj 05-10-2004 02:40 PM

Are you guys going to add the new different types of DM4's now since they are matrix's...

The Shocktech one?

And the Dark one?

p8ntfreak98 05-10-2004 03:52 PM

Seeing as they're not available to the public, no.

Blue Baller 05-10-2004 04:06 PM

I'm sure I can find you a pic of the shocktech DM4 though, chibbs. Here ya go.

chibissj 05-10-2004 06:11 PM

I know I've seen it.

But waffles...it'll be available soon...I mean they'll.

DagNasty 05-11-2004 05:58 AM

I'll add versions of the DM4 once I get all the info on the production models.

potatocannon4 07-07-2004 05:49 PM

shocktech dm4's are ugly:eek:

shoebag2000 07-12-2004 06:25 PM

I think they are pretty hott. Thats right, hot with 2 t's.

DagNasty 08-03-2004 12:59 PM

the pic thread might be down for a bit, I'm setting up some new boxes and the old ones are going straight to game server hosting. So for now, they're getting put on village but who knows how long that'll last.

Damn we need to update this thread..

actually, Airtech made the first matrix, which the prototype was actually fully mechanical...then went to electro when it was released to the public, in which Diablo then distributed the matrix, and after Diablo was when Gen-E stepped in.

DagNasty 12-16-2004 08:55 AM

wow, this thread is in serious need of an overhaul..

soon to come I guess.
