heres a little chart i found about the dm4/5/proto....so DONT FREAKING ASK WHICH IS BETTER OR THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM. EVER. AGAIN. thank you.


some extra info on the older gen matrices courtesy of speedy2k4...i dont know much about them so dont pm me about it.

Some basic info on the lcd/led: much larger than new models, up to 1lb heavier, more complex bolt kit not removable in one peice, regulators vary depending on model, no ultralite but matrix barrel is very usuable, private labels may have ace system, many custom versions available, new board must be purchased to upgrade electronics, trigger is internally adjustable, still has very high rof, adjustments can be made through lcd on lcd models, includes temp, rof, and other features, 170 psi operating pressures, efficiancy of 700spf led, 1200spf lcd, lcd has lcd screen, led has led, lcd comes with external lpr, same detents as dm4, removable breech, feednecks vary, less kick usually due to more weight, both have dual side air passages, the lcd only uses one and the other is left open for private label modifications such as trauma eyes or freeflow higher volume for solenoid

unless i am blind or something the proto has a one piece barrel, and just fyi its only 12 inches, not the normal 14. also for the proto board situation many places will reprogram it for ~50 bux.

seeing how this is from the matrix center, you're probably wrong. and yes, tadao does flash boards but their point as that you cant get a chip for it like the dm4/5

Steve's right. The barrel on the Proto is a 1-piece and is 12" long. Unless someone switched the barrel in the box before I picked up my Proto, TMC is incorrect.

it's a one peice and you can have programming done but can't do it yourself like you can just pop in a new chip

get a mod to get on that. you could always have the lcd included aswell.

back to the proto barrel situation....


most places you purchase it from will sell it with the 12' proto 1-piece barrel. from TMC though, it comes with a 14' 2-piece.

Uhhh..lol...TMC is wrong then, I have my Proto barrel in my hands, and its definately a 12 inch 1 piece.

Out of the DM4, DM5 and Proto? The DM5, but it also costs the most.
