My Strange Ion Body Kit
Just got a Strange Ion Body yesterday at the PSP Chicago Open.
- It does make the marker a little heavier. But not enough for me to concern myself with. - The rear chamber and bolt ARE removable from the back. It uses your existing rear chamber but with a new rear donut. - It's NOT field stripable. You need to loosen (but not remove) the front two frame screws. Then remove the rear screw. - You might want to wait for the SP Banjo QEV if you have one. The aluminum is very thick. I managed to get my QEV on using a CRAZY amount of teflon tape ... basicly made a giant teflon oring. My QEV fit perfect with no cutting on the stock body The end result: - It makes Bolt greasing maintenance about as easy as an Automag. - It looks nice IMHO. I'm off to the chicago open again, otherwise I'd do a full review. Feel free to post or link these on PBN / PBR ect till I can writeup a full review. http://home.mchsi.com/~c.burkhart/im...trangeion2.jpg http://home.mchsi.com/~c.burkhart/im...trangeion3.jpg http://home.mchsi.com/~c.burkhart/im...trangeion4.jpg |
That's really dissapointing news to me personally. The only reason I'd considered the $150 strange body was the reason I was hoping it was going to be completely field strippable, like a Spyder. So all we really accomplished was making maintenence easier, increasing the weight of the gun, and making it shiny and purty.
I was hoping $150 was going to go a little farther. Still, nice gat. |

Me too. I thought I heard that the Strange body was field strip-able? Ah well, still looks pretty cool. Only complaint, besides not being field strip-able, 150 is kind of spendy for me, for a body. |
so you can still pull the bolt out without having to take the whole thing apart right? by losening the screw in the breach and the one by the tigger, then you unscrew the back-end and you can pull out the bolt and lube it and stuff?

But i still might get it. And by a ''little heavier'' we're talking a few more oz. right. |

Oh yeah. It's still completely worth it IMHO. Realy saves a lot of time. |
Yeah, it saves time...but it's not as fun.
