Will Pulse Chips work with the Mini? If so where do I solder?
NOTE I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE OCCURED DURING THE MODIFICATION. MODIFICATION MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!!!
Inside the grip frame being held by electric tape.
Upper body removed. Exposing the noid connector.
Pulse chip harness/wires soldered to the back side of the noid connector.
doing it on the mini will prolly void the warranty.
if you solder it to the sensor board, you have to strip the black coating over the noid connector terminals.
i found this the best place to install the rf chip.
what i did was:
WATCH, PAY ATTENTION, ABSORB THE MINI VIDEOS PRIOR TO ANY ACTIONS
- remove the grip (4 screws)
- take the grip frame off. ( 2 different screws, make sure the bolt guide doesnt fly away)
- disconnect noid wire from board (pull the white male connector part off, do not tug on the wires)
- remove the metal frame on top of the sensor board where the noid and upper volumizer is connected (6-8 small screws)
- lightly pull the sensor board out (try not to damage it by using flat head screw drivers. try not to mess up the eyes by yanking it off)
- with the optimus sensor board off, lightly remove the black coating off the noid connector terminals. just enough to expose any metal. (use a really fine sand paper/filer)
- solder the pulse RF chip wires (make sure that the chip IS NOT connected to the wires when you solder. the wires come prepped with lead on its tips. make sure not to make the wires touch each other when adding more lead)
- cover that part with a non-conducting material. so you don't ground anything by touching the metal parts of the frame (thick electric tape is advised.)
- place the sensor board back to the upper part of the mini (be wary of how you place the eyes back inside.)
- now slide the RF CHIP wires through the hole frame that holds the sensor board in place. there is enough clearance so you don't pinch any of the wires.
(the same hole that the white noid connector goes into)
- check that everything is flushed. no wires are pinched. eyes in position (look inside the breech). now you can screw that frame on (6-8 small screws)
- connect the noid back to the sensor board.
- re-attach the grip frame back to the upper body of the mini. again, make sure that the RF chip wires and the noid wires does not get pinched in the process.
- connect the RF chip and tape it to the volumizer. unless you like to let it hang.
- screw the grip frame back on. short screw in the trigger area, long screw in the back. make sure you align the bolt guide and it is flushed with the upper body.
- now turn your mini on with eyes off
- sync your pulse loader (hold the power button of the pulse till it blinks slow green and keep holding. shoot your mini once. if by the powers of she-ra you did everything right, the pulse loader will blink rapidly and turn off after you release the button)
- the the pulse on. hold the carousel (thing that rotates on the inside)
- shoot mini. feel response from pulse loader.
- yay. turn the marker off. turn loader off.
- screw grips back on frame. (4 screws)
Another good option is the Destructive Customs RF harness. The ego/dm/pm harness works with the mini. You simply attach to the solenoid than the other end into the board and plug in the RF chip.
How do I clean and take care of my mini?
Electronics and Front Grip
Sensor Board Replacement
Once again, thanks to Simon and Invert for these awesome videos. You won't see something like this from any other company.
***NOTE the Regulator is not meant to be taken apart by non-certifed technicians and it is reccomended that if you are having problems with your regulator send it back to the manufacturer.
What lube should I use with my mini?
Dow33 will work. Dow33 is commonly known as Shocker grease or Sl33k(both made by Smartparts).
How does the Mini Work?
The green is the compressed gas.
There are a few glitches, and the bolt spring doesn't compress as the bolt moves, but I think it gives you the idea!
We purge the chamber behind the poppet. That allows the poppet to move backwards. The gas from behind the poppet is then used to push the bolt forwards.
There are two stages of gas released to the bolt from behind the poppet. The first small hole has a one way restrictor, this means gas is only allowed in slowly. As the back o-ring on the bolt passes the second hole it allows more gas through faster and the bolt moves quicker.
The restrictor in the first hole means the pressure (and thus force and accleration) builds up slowly.
It is in essence a 3 stage system, because once the main gas pulse is released for firing the bolt, this also acts on the inside bolt face to push the bolt forwards and hold it in place while the ball is being fired.
Breaking it down into stages...
If anyone else wants to try animating it and make the spring compress too... that would be cool.
How Big is the mini compared to other guns?
Mini manual: -
Why won't my Barrel Fit?
Autococker thread dimensions are not universal. Each Company varies and over the years the variation has changed more and more. It has been noted that older barrels such as old freaks do not fit in the mini. From my personaly use, my eclipse shaft barrel did not fit in my mini. If the barrel does not fit, do NOT try to force it in if you do you will most likely end up breaking/scratching/denting something on your mini.
Need more help Dissassmeblying your Mini?
If you need more help or you cannot play videos look here http://www.zdspb.com/tech/invert/disassembly1.html. (note not dial up friendly).
What is a good tank for the mini?
I reccomend crossfire if you are looking for dependablity, but macdev, centerflag, Cp, DXS and guerilla air make nice tanks too. If you are looking for the lightest tank a CP bottle plus a guerilla air myth regulator would be the lightest. If you are looking for the smallest, DXS makes stubby-like tanks or you can purchase stubby tanks by centerflag or crossfire, but they are usually more exspensive/rare.
I am having Blowblack issues, what should I do?
Just call up KEE and ask for a replacement poppet due to blowback issues.
(If you get yoru new poppet and you want to try to fix your old poppet you can try this http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2138266 , but you need the correct and proper tools to do it)
In depth Mini Disassembly Guide (*56k beware*):
(Courtesy of 4th Degree)
does the lack of hoses/ the use of a poppet effect the accuracy?? i have seen some videos of people shooting one and it seems that they dont really have that good of a range on them.
The majority of MINI owners PRAISE the accuracy of their guns...myself included!
Range would be more effected by ball to barrel fit...resulting from user error...high humidity...poor quality paint, just to name a few.
i am extremely happy with the acc. on this gun
pics of my markers for comparisons
The barrels used for comparisons
Markers were lined up by feednecks, then by ASAs. If the gun did not have an ASA then they were lined up by the bottoms of the grip frames so they would have been the same as if the frame had a direct mount asa.
Black Magic SF with E2 frame
And my favorite
my stock barrel is .693
great pics equipment counts...
Another quick question:
What hopper would you recommend for Mini?
A nice fast force-fed loader. Halo, Reloader B2, Magna, Vlocity or Vlocity jr, rotor
anything that will feed 15 to 20 BPS, but the halo is WAY heavy for the light mini
the halo is actually a good thing for the mini. but i use a velocity jr. i just wish that battery life was better
hey anybody know where to get grips for the mini
Will Mini run on anything other than compressed air?
no its reccommended you use HPA
