Alien Upgrade FAQ
 

So, you want to upgrade your alien, eh? Well, too bad! It's perfect already!

Not good enough for you? Ok, well there are some things you can change then, though not too many.

First off, the initial run of this will be geared towards the interceptor. You can change more parts on an interceptor than a remains, but the remains is obviously starting as a higher caliber marker.

Upgradable parts include:
-Barrel
-Grip Panels
-Vertical Regulator (a.k.a High Pressure Regulator; HPR)
-Low Pressure Regulator (LPR)
-Board
-Air Source Adapter (ASA; On/Off)

Barrel:

One of the most simple parts to upgrade, but not necessarily the primary. The alien stock barrel is actually quite good in performance, but if using inconsistent paint, or changing brands often, it may be good to get a kit.

You can Use any "cocker" threaded barrel on the alien. See the pbr Review section (or Barrel forum) for further information on barrel kits.

Grip Panels:

The Alien Interceptor is one of the harder guns to find grips that look good on it since it is an 85* humped frame, but uses .45 style grips.

Any .45 style grips will fit, so it's really just a matter of preference. Largely, people will remain with the stock grips since they fit the unique contours of the grip frame.

Vertical Regulator:

Not too much to say here. The air flow on the stock reg is nice, but there were at least a few batches with bum o-rings. This caused the recharge rate to be excessively slow. New o-rings are available from alienpb if you contact their customer support.

Still, many people choose to upgrade this part for styling reasons more than performance. Pretty much any standard ASA threaded vertical regulator will work for this marker. Make sure the regulator will be able to regulate the pressure down to the 275 psi range.

Low Pressure Regulator:

Honestly, the performance of the stock LPR is sufficient for most operations. Like the HPR issue with the o-rings, some batches have soft o-rings that slow the recharge rate. You can also have these replaced via alienpb customer support.

Many still choose to go with a higher flowing, or more stylish, LPR. Any Intimidator threaded LPR will fit the Alien Interceptor (with the exception of "dually" lpr's).

The alien remains is unable to take alternate LPR's

Board:

Alien markers currently come stock with the WAS Equalizer board. This board has spectacular performance, and the settings adjustments are pretty much standard. However, if you must upgrade your board, the Alien takes Alien/NME style boards.

One example of an aftermarket Alien board is the Tag Sportz Predator board (some minor grip frame modification may need to be done in order to fit this board)

Air Source Adapter:

This is one of the weaker styling point for the Alien Interceptor (Remains does not come stock with an ASA). You may purchase any standard ASA to work with the Alien.

There are two typical types of mounting, rail & direct mount. If you purchase a rail mount ASA, you must also purchase the rail that is used to attach the ASA to the marker. Direct Mount ASA's require no additional parts to attach to the marker. You may also use a drop if desired, though many drops utilize a rail system to attach the ASA to the drop itself.
