You got a messed up marker. Trigger pull/firing point makes no difference in air usage.
But, you may have adjusted it too far that your marker's actuator point is ahead of the firing point.
Air up your marker, cock it, and slowly using 2 fingers check your trigger pull. If it hisses before it fires, you need to shorten it, otherwise you get blowback and bad air efficiency.
