General Question About CO2

I finally made my choice ... I bough my first marker (tippmann a-5 camo). Now i have 3 questions. In the manual they say that u must shoot when removing the CO2 tank out (at 3/4) .
heres my questions:
1) do i shoot when i hear the CO2 leaking and unscrew at the same time?
2) Can i keep the CO2 tank on the gun while NOT playing?
3) not a question but: My O-ring on CO2 tank has a small white scratch on hit (is that normal or its cuz i didnt unscrew tank properly?)

Thx for the help.

1)I just unscrew it.
2)Yes
3)Like part of the o-ring is white? If so thats normal from getting cold then hitting warm air put a little oil on it should help.

1. Unscrew the tank about 3/4 to 4/5 of a turn and then shoot the gun until it stops. If it doesn't stop shooting within 6 shots, unscrew the tank a little more and try again. Tippmanns don't have a hole in the ASA to relieve the pressure so it will eat up o-rings if you simply unscrew it.

2. I wouldn't do that. Just take the tank off and then there is no worries.

3. The white spot is normal. Cold C02 has caused this. It was caused when the tank was simply unscrewed without relieving the pressure first.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Damn i got another question... My CO2 tank is now kinda empty (though im not sure) when i unscrewed it to remove it from my gun it didnt make the usual "PPPPPPPSSSSHHHH" sound. Is it cuz its getting empty and theres less pressure or cuz i added to much lube on the o-ring?

It is most likely almost out of air and doesn't have much pressure, hence the very silent hiss.

I am a guy who has a 1,500$ marker. Iv been playing for a while.

Here is what I did with my c02's.

Slowly unscerw your tank a few small turns. Then once you hear C02 comming out, shoot a few balls per second until your tank is off. if you do no do this your o-ring will be bursted, and it MIGHT freez your gun, or give you FOST BITE ON YOUR FINGERS.

Get a "O-Ring-Loob-Cream" and put it on your tank before you play. this will lessen the chance of O-ring problems.

Email me for any questions...at

Johnathanmorley@sbcglobal.net

ThankYou

First, your 12. Second, according to your profile and posts, you own a System X Vengeance Pro which I can buy for $200 or less. Your marker is not a $1500 marker. Your profile also claims that you have a 3500 psi HPA tank. Hate to burst your bubble but tanks come in 3000, 4500 and 5000 psi. Now I'm going to have to assume your profile is correct and you didn't just forget to change it when you bought the new $1500 marker considering this account was only created on Aug 31st, 2005. I've looked at your other posts and most of them are spam, and pointless. Finally you claim to know the Oakland Assassins, and that they recommend the System X Vengeance Pro. I don't believe that for one minute. Please quit lying and claiming to know more then you actually do. You should also consider working on your grammer and your spelling.

pwned!

When will kids realize that the price of your gear means nothing to anyone but materialistic a**holes!? I've seen a player using a very high end gun get gogged by a $100 pistol before.... Let your skills do the talking, not your overpriced gear!

Well, I noticed that when I shot and unscrew it doesn't depressurize as much, meaning the o-ring doesn't freeze as much.

If you don't shoot it can freeze and make your tank o-ring brittle, which may require putting a new o-ring on. Other than that nothing else will happen...
