Ultralite Frame FAQ

I've decided its time to make an imformative thread all about the new DYE Ultralight Frame.

Dye has launched their new ultralite frame with the DM6. It comes stock on that marker and only on that marker at this time.

Who makes it and what's their website?

What is the Ul Frame's deal? What's new?

The frame has been improved over the older DM models.

*Lighter than previous frames
*Steel Buttons(no membrane pad)
*Redesigned board to fit the frame
*New style sticky grips
*LED readout
*New Roller bearing trigger
*DM6 Board (has NPPL, PSP, Millennium)
*"Ego style" battery connector, no more broken harnesses
* External trigger adjustment

Does it enhance my preformance?

In very small areas, maybe. There are no membranes and a somewhat smoother trigger.
It will make your gun a bit lighter, yes. The frame has a different feel to it, some will like, some will not. I suggest trying one out first.
The main features are convenient and cosmetic.

What guns can I get this for?

There is a version for all recent DM/PM models. The DM4,DM5/C,DM6,PM5, and PM6
Be sure to get the model that fits your gun! Does not, I repeat, DOES NOT fit the"DM3s"

How much is this sweet frame gonna set me back?

About $230-250.

Where can I get one?

Right now, they are scarce as its the holiday season, but coming to a online store near you.

Is it difficult to install?

No, you must first take off the old frame, unplug the eye and noid wires and connect them into the new frame, then screw it on. Thats the basic instruction.

What does it look like on my...?

I've found various pics of all guns with Ul frames on them.(PM5 still needed)

Ul inside

Is it worth it?

That is up to you, you own the marker and have the $$. If you like the looks then go for it. If not then don't. Plain and simple.

Any aftermarket boards? Will my old____ board fit in?

As of Dec 05',____(search and you shall find) makes a board that will fit in the UL frame, don't be surprised to see a tadao version. Your old board will not fit, the new frame inside requires a new sized board. EDIT 06' Tadao now has a DM6 Tadao board, which will fit.

Let me know if there's anything important I missed
