Sorry, but they're actually called Tusken Raiders. "Sandpeople" is the term that Luke used in A New Hope (Star Wars: Episode IV) when he was talking about the dangers of going out at night and after he was attacked by them.

And the Tusken Raiders would have kidnapped her because they have no respect for any life that isn't their own. Which is why they were torturing her and letting her die.

I doubt they would've raped her though, since they don't believe in exposing any flesh (which is why they're all covered up and stuff) unless for the sake of procreation (and they wouldn't mate with a non-Sandperson) and the obvious reprocussions of such an act... birth...
