Is "GD" a bad word..
Ok I'll say Gosh Darn instead of the actual term so no one is offended. I too am religious and don't want to say it but I have thought about this before and want opinions.
If you just say Gosh Darn then yes it is bad..
BUT!! If you say it like Gosh Darn Bin Laden to Heck..
Thats like using it in a Christian term right.
Christians in the old days used to say that evil will be damned to hell right?
So Gosh Darn you to Hell isn't necessarily bad if you use it the right way is it?
Just curious because I was watching National Geographic and some guy from the middle east was chanting "God Damn Saddam Hussein to hell".
Please don't ban me.

Using the name of God in vein is a sin so GD is a sin along with "oh my god" and any other uses of gods name outside of worship.

Well I didn't want it to go this far. I've never heard anyone use or mention using GD in that sense. It's basically using it in a different context.
Hell goes two ways.
Darn goes two ways.
The B word is also a female dog.
Why can't GD go two ways.

I don't necessarily like the fact that words can be considered profanity at all.
It is simply a sound make from your throat. It isn't an action, it's a sound. It's a word just like any other.
You would think that in freedom of speech you could say whatever you wanted. A teacher once told me that freedom of speech was thrown out of the window by something else. The fact that people not wanting to hear certain things over powers the freedom. You have a freedom to not want to hear certain things and that is more powerful.
While I think that is the most ignorant thing you could say I think it's true in cases.
