omg turkey *pic*
So Saturday afternoon, I was out cutting grass for my dad with something like this:

...and was going about my business until I heard a thump. I wasn't looking ahead so I didn't see what went through (the reel, the auger, and then 2 compressing rollers behind the auger with about an inch of space between them), only feathers. I finish that row, come around, and stop, only to find the heap of turkey remains (which was not totally distinguishable as a turkey). Nearby I found a nest of 7 eggs (it was lower to the ground then the level at which I was cutting). I called my dad, and he told me to keep the eggs. I had a cooler bag in the cab with me for water (it was a hot-*** day, thank god for A/C), and I went out with it and a pair of gloves, took the eggs, and moved the mother. My mom stopped with lunch and I handed the eggs to her. She took them to someone we know that had chickens, but they couldn't help so we were on our own. We went and bought an incubator, and even though after reading the instructions and finding out we may have little to no chance of success, we set it up and did what it said to do. Last night, they began to hatch, and now 6 of the 7 have hatched (we believe the last one is probably a dud). We bought a feeder/waterer and a heat lamp, and we'll decide what to do later on.

You mean like pets? We're letting them go once they're old enough.
