I went down to my local shop yesterday with the intention of getting a WGP Prostock as a backup gun for my Invert Mini.

"Hey, do you have Prostocks? I saw them online for about $90."

"Uh, we have them for $240"

(My jaw drops, bile rises in my throat)

"...but maybe you would like a Quest, we have a good deal on them right now for $250"

(Jaw drops lower, mouth is now strangely dry, I lose comprehension of the English language)

So yes, I now have a silvery lovey Quest waiting at home... and it might be making my MINI into the backup gun!

Quests are a good gun. I just fell into an 07 Quest yesterday myself. Feels good, trigger is pretty nice for what it is. Now I just need to get the right manual for it and I can program it and be on my way as well.
This is a good time to get a Quest is you ask me. Especially if you don't mind the OG model which are being sold for $400 and under right now.

Welcome to the Quest family. I picked one up back in April for a back up to my Cyborg. But since I've had the Quest I always have trouble deciding which marker I want to use. I like both of them very much.

At any rate, I think you will enjoy the Quest!

You want to talk about having trouble deciding which marker, try an 07 Borg, Darq, Quest, or Russian Legion timmy. That's my curse every weekend and tourney.

Mine has more side to side play then I would care for, though it shoots fine. But the trigger has a 'ping' to it because it's made out of metal so it kind of masks the microswitch click sometimes. I'm debating getting a delrin one made honestly just to kill that ping.

The OG is the original quest that came out with the smooth looking body and is the one going for $400 now. The 07 Quests are reverse faded and have milling on the body and are around $800.
Also there are a lot of board revisions from the OG to the 07 model. The first gen board has a removable chip, then they went to a WAS board, then they dropped WAS for the 07 apparently.

Yeah there are tons of differences...Im in the boat of people who bought the $400 quest cause well it was $400 and I needed a back up. Should be coming in soon but Im worried they may be some problems with it cause apparently theres some markers that were assembled incorrectly after a tech course and well those are the ones being sold so...hopefully it works out. I dunno if I believe much of what it claims...especially effieciency...but o well I always have my PM7 if anything goes wrong.

At least your manual is going to be right for your board. I have the new 'Nova' board or whatever the name of the brand new Quest board is for the 07. And they sent the original Quest manual so the LEDs and color schemes don't match the manual when I'm looking to change settings so I don't know what's what.
It's like pulling teeth trying to get this manual too.

Yeah, the OG doesn't have any slop at all - I thought my Mini was pretty tight in this regard, but the Quest doesn't move at all.

After finally shooting it last night, I do feel that I was spoiled with the Mini's hall effect sensor, because now I have to dink with the Quest's trigger more: Through the movement of the trigger, there's a point where the grab of the magent lets off, but the trigger still has some space before activating the microswitch. I'd like to eliminate that feeling as much as I can so there's just a uniform pull tension... eh, something to learn...

I've also humbled myself by how little I know of current markers - I could take my ancient mech Spyder down to every last spring, shake it all up in a box, and put it all back together, which I thought gave me some credibility... the Mini didn't need any adjustments, and there's basically no adjustments to make... but this Quest is my first real step into today's normal marker, and it's really going to give me some lessons (ha ha, you cocker vetrans can laugh).

I'll be co-runnning the Q & A department for a while now, fulfilling the role of the Q side

If I have interpreted your meaning correctly, then you probably just need to adjust the triggers firing point activation screw a little so that the marker fires a little earlier in the trigger pull - while the magnet still has some effect on the trigger. Don't go crazy though, as screwing the activation point adjuster in too far could damage the microswitch. You can then use the trigger stop to eliminate the excess trigger movement that occurs after the trigger has already activated the switch.

Yes, that does make things clearer - so this is what I got:

the upper screw for the magnet would be for pull weight
the firing point activiation screw is what point in the range of motion the switch is activated
the trigger stop screw would be for limiting range of motion

What I want to eliminate is the time between where the trigger is at rest to the time when the trigger engages the microswitch BUT BEFORE the microswitch is depressed. In essence, the trigger is resting on the microswitch but isn't depressing it.

Either that, or I want the trigger pull to be strong enough where I can't tell the point in which I actually depress the microswitch.

I dunno if these are reasonable ideas...?

What I would do, is back out the activation screw first.
Then set the trigger stop to set your overall trigger length how you want it.
Then screw in the activation screw until the marker fires at the point in the trigger travel that you want.
Finally, adjust the return strength screw to get the trigger tension you want.

If you want to go the whole hog, you could get the front of the top of the trigger drilled and tapped and install another screw, giving you a front as well as a rear trigger stop.

I shot my Quest for the first time last night, pretty cool, shot smooth even though the lpr has to be set between 80-100 psi. Not as smooth as my Darq if you ask me but still pretty good. Though it bounces like a fat chick on a trampoline, I need the board manual to fix it.
