West Virginia has one of the biggest ski hills in the Appalachians (Hawk's Nest). Tennessee has Gatlinburg which is an amazing town up in the mountains. Virginia has other ski hills, not sure of how many or whether or not they're quality as I've never been there. Kentucky? No idea about Kentucky.

I hate you.
Even though I'm from South Carolina and live in Tennessee now, I hate you.
EDIT: Kentucky has the derby. And....yeah that's about it.

btw, dont move to california if you plan to live in the suburbs because theres nothing to do. hell, heres the urban dictionary for my town
"Mostly white town outside out Los Angeles, full of huge expensive houses that all look the same. Most of the (young) wives have had some variation of plastic surgery to look good for their successful (older) husbands. Anyone over the age of 12 has at one point done drugs in an attempt to kill the mind numbing boredom and monotony. If anyone is perceived as even remotely unique they are immediately alienated by their peer group, because of the innate conformist nature. 75% of the population is on a prescribed medication, and the other 25% is either suicidal or fascist."

That's why I like South Carolina. There's always something to do with your friends, whether going to a big city like Greenville, going to a bonfire at one of your friend's houses, or just tooling around on some back roads with all of your buddies piled in the back of your Jeep. Then you've got mountains 2 and a half hours away, the beach 4 hours away, Atlanta to the South, Charlotte to the North, and relatively cheap gas. It's a pretty amazing place as long as you steer clear of the low country near the coast and Georgia.

It's the first horse race of the Triple Crown.
They have the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY; The Preakness Stakes in Baltimore, MD; and the Belmont Stakes in Elmont, NY. They all take place in May and June.
If one horse can win all three races, they win the Triple Crown. However, this is very hard to do because of injury to the horses and them pretty much just being worn out when the Belmont comes around, and Big Brown was supposed to win it this year. He won by many many horselengths(i think that's what it is called, haha) at the Derby and the Preakness, but had a cracked hoof when it came time for the Belmont and finished dead last after running up front for the first 3/4ths of the race. Just ran out of steam. The last horse to win it was Affirmed in 1978.
There, feel enlightened even more.

Here's the urban dictionary definition for Vegas.
Plain and simple the absolute worst city in the whole world. Outside the Strip (which sucks for anyone under 21) the whole city is suburbs. Centennial Hills, Summerlin, Green Valley, Spring Valley, The Lakes, North Las Vegas, the East Side, Desert Shores = houses that look all the same for miles. And its too hot to do anything outside except for winter. I live in this hellhole, so take my word. Never come here. Ever.
Spot freakin' on.
Edit: I disagree with the "Never come here" part, this city is cool if you're 21.

I'm going to see Hootie and the Blowfish on the 22nd at the Bi-Lo center, but I'll probably make my way up there as an excuse to see my family that lives on Lake Wylie. It's at PBC, right?

Yep. That weekend is the 10th anniversary of the CFOA, so they're running Xball Thurs and Fri, and then 5man Sat, and Sun. Supposed to be a bunch of stuff there and a lot of celebration. It's going to have a PSP esq feeling. I'll be there playing with Dark Carnival.

Sounds like a good time. Now I've just got to try and get my parents to help spring for gas money. Two a days will probably be starting right around that time too.

Yea, me either. This is my last year though, so I think I can manage one more week.
