NICE... the one in the cup is cool... but in my part of Michigan you can use anything to hunt a deer...We just have certain times and seasons where you can only use a certain type of fire arm at that point in time... And last but not least why can't we all get along, before one or more of us gets banned, so lets not fight about firearms and what will kill what( a 22.lr can take down a full grown buck so stop fighting about what will take out what).

When you view the main forum index board it is the very last thing at the bottom page. It basically tells you who has been banned, a general description of what for penned by the banning moderator, the date banned, and the date (if ever) the ban will be lifted.

While Michigan's hunting laws are very messed up; you can not use a .22 to hunt deer.

most people dont have the skill to knock a deer down with a .22 and they dont want morons running around the woods putting .22 holes in deer for sport not realizing the deer will likely die a slow painful death from infection a week later? would be my guess.

You could take down a deer with a well placed shot from a .22 But most likely you would either have to track him for days. Or he would slowly die of infection etc.. Eitherway the meat would be ruined. If your gonna shoot something. Use the right gun.

I will say this, and then be quiet. You have the right to decide what you will or won't arm yourself with. You do not have the right to decide what I do, as long as I do it responsibly. And thats the whole point, if you don't like guns, don't own one. the idea that no one should own one because you don't like them is arrogant. And there were no restrictions placed on the second amendment when it was written, and as such i think there should be very, very few restrictions on it now.

I personally know what its like to have to live off the land and have shot quite a few deer out of season with a 22LR. When you're down and money in scarse, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. 1 well placed shot behind the ear is all it takes and they drop like they've been hit with a 416 rigby.
