I actually saw a "pro" cheat...
[venting]Ok, there are big scenario games at my local field, and this claiming to be pro, and the field says they're pro so I believe anyways, the story is. I shoot the scenario guy in the back from 8 feet, watch it break, he felt it cause he turned around and shot at me. So I dodge his shot and put two more on him, one on the forearm and another on his marker. The ref comes over and is about to call him out when he claims the one on his back is an old hit, and the other one was gun hit, (doesn't count at my field). One was a gun hit, but two were clear hits. So the guy starts shooting at me again, I hit the ground and light up his knees wth about 7 -8 shots, by this time I am pissed. The referee calls me out for shooting a "non-live" player. It was like the guy got special trust and treatment cause he was a pro-scenario player. Even if he was a pro, which didn't seem likely as I caught him offguard pretty well, and I'm decent at best. This just infruated me for the rest of the day.[/venting]

There will be guys "pro" or newb wiping all a lot at almost any field.
Throw enough paint so that there's too much to wipe.

I haven't had that problem. Usually I or my team has the guy trapped and if he doesn't give up with the first shot he might as start playing "Here Comes The Rain". But yeah as for you, make him feel the rain so to speak.

It happens on a random Monday, coming back from an event, or late on a Sunday night right, before you get on the plane and you're about to be frisked for the third time. You're driving. You're flying. You're sitting in an airport seat with boys from the team. You're drinking stale coffee trying to stay awake. You're explaining the fat welt on the side of your neck to a confused stranger or a best friend. Or running through the sidewalks of LAX trying to catch a plane. You're coming back to the other life. The one without paintball. Where no one understands why you do it. You're tired. You're working off little sleep. A question creeps up and you try to ignore it. Why do I do this? Why the travel? Why the losses, the missed work, the missed school, hours of practice and the complaining girlfriend? Because the lure of a paintball life is just too potent. And the products of the road, the travel, are memories of trips in strange lands with stranger people. At tournaments it feels like for once you actually get to live as loud as you want. Its worth all the sacrifices, its worth all the bulls**t. Because if you work hard enough a Sunday will roll around and you'll be in the huddle, screaming, with your hand in, one among ten, playing for the world title. And suddenly all those clichés that you ever heard make scene and you are defined. You say it to yourself and it means everything, 'I am a paintball player and this moment right here is my life.'

pros? wiping?! no!!
I'd expect pros to wipe more than rec ballers. Bad habit from playing tournaments.

Amatuer tournament players will do anything to stay in the game. Sometimes it means sliding on their hits or playing on to take out the guy they were trying to bunker. There was this one guy I knew who used to be on team rage that was a PRO at wiping and various other subterfuges to stay in the game. He would rub himself up against the bunker. Sometimes he would pick up some dirt and wipe it on the mark almost coming out squeeky clean. If he couldn't wipe the hit totally he would change his shirt when he got off the field to avoid people from checking the shots they put on him. He would most definitely play on past hits that didn't seem like hits or hits that he couldn't see. I would tag him out, only for him to release one last barrage of 13bps at me to take me out. Usually it was when I am just checking to see if he was out or not. Then he would call himself out. The sneaky git. He knew that if he didn't take me out, I would flank his entire team. He made sure I didn't get past him. He mysteriously takes 5 bounces sometimes.

When no matter how many times your paint breaks on the punk, you still can't seem to eliminate him....
I've never heard of a 'pro scenario-baller' though. Just sounds like a local figurehead who plays at the field/events often.
