Thoughts by Non-Ballers on the ESPN Telecasts
So I was sitting in Spanish, minding my own business, walking my pencil as usual, when a kid asks me if I play paintball. I say yes and we end up talking about tourneys, guns, and teams. We then discussed the ESPN shows. Another kid chimes in, saying he's played once with a university team (just a few pickup games) and said that he was watching the ESPN show. He thought it was well made and felt that it resembled football (I have no idea why). He said that he'd be telling more people to watch it.
Anybody else have discussions like this with non-ballers about the ESPN shows?

My grandparents watched it, and liked it. So did some of my cousins, and my 9 year old sister was even interested in it.

in school a couple non-ballers, and antiballers have asked me if ive seen it. Im one of the few hardcore ballers in my school, so if anyone really wants to talk about paintball, they will most likely talk to me.

I get a lot of my friends who are up late online to watch it on mondays. I got my bro watching it and he even asked for a schedule so he's basically hooked lol. A few other kids have gotten hooked too, and i ask them how they think of the sport. Some posotive some negative, im still getting more and more ppl to watch it though

IMO, NPPL tournaments are lame. Good teams, but I prefer X-ball's style of play

I get what people are saying about it being boring. Some of it is just too drawn out.
NXL would be cool to see on TV, but I think everything got a little botched up now.

Yeah, I was pretty thrilled when I saw Billy and Nicky of the hurricanes playing. I was like, 'hey, I practiced with those guys.'

I am literally the only hardcore baller in my school of 4,000. I'm taking a renegade baller (only played a couple times ) to my practice on Sunday. He asked if I had seen it, and I said yeah, but he thinks tournament ball is stupid.

People who don't play think its stupid. Lets be honest, there's not much to see if you haven't played paintball before. You're looking overhead at a field, you cant see the paintballs, the only thing that tells you whats going on are the red/yellow/blue circles which makes it more like a video game. For people who play, its awesome...you know exactly whats happening.
I think they need better camera angles, like maybe if they got some actually on the field. Or better yet, if they play indoors, they can get some of those sliding cameras up above that drop down from the ceiling so people can really see everything.

Yeah it gets kind of boring after you've seen it twice. Alot of my friends watched it and talked to me because alot of people know that I play paintball. It's all positive stuff, and they all really want to play.
