Well, kids I’ve finally finished my year long project.
About a year ago I found out my friend had Dial Calipers which could measure the bore size of a paintball. So I borrowed it from him just to try it out. Well, what started with “just trying it out” became an obsession. I had noticed that most online paintball bore size charts were pretty off (with the exception of Otters which is pretty accurate). I decided that I would find out the bore size of all the paintballs out there myself. So now, a year later, it’s basically complete. I’ll add more paintball bore sizes as they come along.
If you have any suggestions of ball bore sizes to add, please let me know! If you see an incredibly bad error (a bore size that is really off), yell at me (nicely).
How’d I do it? I took 28 balls from the case, 7 from each bag. I measured them on the caliper than averaged them out.
Remember guys, the bore size off paintballs can change all the time due to things such as weather and how old the paint is. Although not often, companies sometimes like to jump from one bore size to another on a monthly basis (this won’t be the case with most paint though). So keep that in mind.
Note: If you have any questions regarding a certain paintballs bore size, please ask it in here instead of making a whole new thread.
I am working on a barrel bore chart as of now, and it is getting close to done. The problem is barrels are little harder to get a hold of than paint. So for now, use
Otter's Barrel Chart.
Oh, and there were a couple of paintballs I couldn’t get a hold, so I either had Otters help me or called up the company to find the bore size. J
