5.0, 6.0, or spyder imagine select
im going to get a new gun petty soon, what do you think i should get?
things you should know:
-i play rec/woodsball
-i want something to be reliable, accurate, and really fast
-i already have i custom products 1 piece barrel so i dont need a new one
-i can only spend 170-180 tops on a gun because i'm going to get a ricochet ak too
my options:
jt excellerator 5.0 at $120 firstcallpaintball.com
jt excellerator 6.0 $170 at iisports.com
spyder imagine select $150 at firstcallpaintball.com
i thought about a black dragun but i dont know how much they cost or which one to get.
im open to new ideas but keep the price range in mind.
also, dont tell me "jt sux cuz i says so," please know what your talking about

I'd get a regular spyder imagine. Then spend the money you save on somehting else, like a reg, paint, or just play more often. You won't get any real performance differance out fo the imagine select, especially when the new uncapped boards for spyders come out.

spyder imagine
i would get a spyder imagine, but i want a drop forward.
select-$150 drop forward, better triger ipi 2nd generation (i think?), better parts(i think?)
imagine-$120+$30 for drop not as good parts(i think?)
so the way i figure it, it be smarter just to get the select.
but maybe your right, after all, the drop is just a comfort issue. hmmmm.....
also, what do you mean uncapped boards? and i heard the vertical feed is plastic, will it break easily or something?

You just get a drop and a slightly better electronic board for the price difference. Personally, buy the regular Imagine over the Select and buy a nicer drop. By uncapped, he means uncapped. Spyder boards are capped at 13bps meaning that the electronics will not let the gun shoot over 13bps. With an uncapped board you can go as high as you want (if you can shoot over 13bps). Yes, the plastic vert adapters on Spyders do break easily if you hit them against something which isn't that easy but it can happen. The JT 5.0 is a pretty good value for $120 though, I would go with the JT 5.0 over the Spyder because it looks nicer, has LCD, and has better made stuff on it.

The drop is extremely useless. It doesn't balance out your gun at all. You'd want something bigger if you really want it to make a difference.

id say imagine. Its fast(take trigger spring out), reliable, and will be accurate with ur CP. My friend has had all kinds of problems with his JT 5.0(which i dont think is much different from the 6.0). The trigger is a bit nicer on the Jt though.

jt 5.0
what kind of problems did he have?
by reading the reviews i gathered this:
-if it's chopping get an elctro hopper and call jt for the new style bolt
-if it's leaking call jt and ask for a new bottom line
-if it's having blowback issues get an elctro hopper and drill holes in the vert feed
can any jt owners tell me if this will make it better if it's having problems?

They just aren't as well made as spyders/piranhas. They aren't the same quality. Problems with my friends have been eating batteries, bad electronics, poor part qualities, and lots of leaks and stuff.

He has had problems with chops and he already has an electronic hopper and I doubt he can outshoot a revy. He has had lots of leak problems(out of the asa and barrel). He has replaced the cup seal 2 times in the last couple weeks.

Your compact should be plenty accurate with a cp. U must be using cheap paint. A new gun won't change anything.
As to answer the above question: Spyder Imagine. End of story...

i'm gonna go with an imagine i really hope get this puppy and show all the 98s' whose boss.
if you guys wouldn't mind, i'd also like to know
-what hopper ? ricochet ak or reloader?
-what's the longest cheapest drop out there?

the scratching on your bolt wont effect performance. It happens to pretty much every bolt. Its normal. As for the hopper you can check out the sticky in the hopper thread. They are both great but i would go with the reloader because it is sound activated. For the drop, psychoballistics has an 8 inch drop i think, but im not sure how much it is.

You might want to be careful about getting a really big drop because you could end up shifting the balance of your gun too far forward. Check out the website at the end of this post for suggestions on how to set up your balance.
Both the Reloader and the Rico will perform great. Reloader can feed about 1 bps faster and the Rico has a lower frontal profile so it's a bit harder to hit (and some balls will bounce).

Hello, get the Jt 6.0 from pbgear.com for $99. You can't go wrong. Or get a jt 5.0 off ebay for $80. Either way you get a steal on a great gun.

yup, i already ordered my 6.0 from paintballgear.com and a ricochet ak. unforutunately, neither of them are in stock still, and it's been almost 3 weeks. it's really starting to tick me off because i've already missed 3 great games.
they said it would be in stock in a week.
Do you think i should contact them or something?

if you want to buy a P.O.S. gun then stick with that decision. If not, then get and imagine or a esprit.
