Avatar Dress Codes:
Due to Pbreview's nature as a forum that tries to hover around "G" and "PG", as well as a forum that sees women as equals to men on and off the playing field, we have taken our time to devise a ruling on avatars due to the strong presence women seem to play in them. We are hesitant to ban females in avatars, primarily due to the fact that if someone wants to pay tribute to the Femme Fatales as their favorite team, they should be just as permitted to have them in their avatar just as someone who worships Naughty Dogs. However, I have yet to see one picture of Naughty Dogs in their skivvies. Women should be afforded the same respect. Consequently, while we do not wish to ban female avatars indiscriminatly, we also don't want Playboy sponsoring our website. Bad PR, you know?
So here's the new rules.
All avatars involving a human being, male or female, must submit to the following guidelines.
No nudity. This is pretty obvious. If you go to a waterpark, and the waterpark makes you cover it up, we do too.
No revealing clothing. This means no wet t-shirts, no bras, or anything similar. Not to mention see through clothing with nothing on underneath. Duh.
No swimsuits. Unless you would have no problem seeing Naughty Dogs in Speedos.
I think this is a fair ruling. In other words, Sailor Moon avatars are about as close as you can cut it, and even then it's at our discretion.
If we feel that you are pressing too far into the gray area, we reserve the right to ask you to change your avatar. These will be decided on appropriateness on a case per case basis by the entire mod staff, so accusations of singling you out are moot. Failure to comply may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of your account. We also remind you that your avatar is between YOU and US. If we are discussing your avatar with you, we don't care about anyone else's or what theirs has in it.
The Mod staff at Pbreview thanks you for your cooperation in this matter. We feel that this is an acceptable rule to both allow females to be rightfully and respectfully presented on pbreview, and still make sure that they are within tasteful boundaries.
Remember, unless you wanna see Naughty Dogs in something equally skimpy, or worse, The Ironmen, it's probably not ok.
