Musashi or Virtue

Hey fellas, I"m looking into getting a new board for my proto and I've got it narrowed down to the Musashi and the Virtue. I'm just curious to see which one you guys think is better and why. I'm not sure if this counts as a Vs. thread, so if it does, mods feel free to close it.

yes, its a vs...but, anyways...get the musashi, the tadao chips are just plain amazing

the virtue is completely unnecessary, and any advantagepb product will get you disqualified in several circuits, including nppl. basically, the musashi has all you need, and more. not saying the virtue is bad, but when buying a new chip for my dm4, i chose the m3 over the virtue.

mine came with M3, but I could switch to virtue and I'm not, for that very reason.

Its says on the website for the Virtue that its got 7 modes, 3 of those are each legal in nppl, psp, and nxl. Plus you can lock it on one mode (for tournements). So how is that illegal? Also I soon will be getting a proto and was curious about the Musashi board. I realy dont know much about it so I was wondering if someone could tell me about it. Also if I get it can I install myself or do I have to send it to someone.

I personally would go virtue. Just my personal preference. Shot a DM4 with M3 and one with advantage. I felt like the advantage was faster.

Go for M3. It's a bit cheaper, and has all you need.

The vs. threads I was referring to are gun vs. gun. This is actually legal, but thanks for reading the Stickies. Go teach the barrel folks about them.

the modes are legal, the chip is not. because advantage has produced several chips solely for the purpose of cheating and made them undetectable, all advantage pb products have been banned from the nppl, and i believe psp aswell. nxl allows them, but then again nxl uses 3 shot auto ramping so cheating isn't a factor.

again i'm not saying that the virtue is bad, and i'm not saying it is a cheater chip, but it's the company that makes it illegal in some tournaments. at least check with your circuit to see what is allowed.

What about in young guns tournements, is the virture chip illegal?

it isn't the division, but the circuit or league. local young guns might allow it, check with the field operator. chances are they will let you, but because advantage has been the #1 source for "cheater" chips/boards, it is understandable why a league would ban all of their products.

that aside, i still think the m3 is a better value, regardless of which has more bells and whistles. 3 firing modes, precisely adjustable dwell, amb, debounce, loader delay, rof, more than enough imo.

1) Buy the M3 upgrade.

2) Take the extra money you saved from not getting the virtue, and get a case of paint.

3) Mow faces.

Both of them have great eye logic. You won't see much of a difference.

yup yup yup, even the stock board is good, just not as adjustable, and it doesn't recognize problems as well.

id go virtue. ive got it in my ton ton shocker and i love it. its legal in every division. but the virture speedy 2 board is the one that is illegal. the m3 is good but the virtue just has so many more modes to mess around with that are great. im about to buy a dm5 w/virture whenever i sell my dragon timmy and sonic cyborg. so i would go virtue

Just for clarification...

Virtue is completely legal in all NPPL venues, as long as it's locked down in semi mode, without mechanical or electrical bounce. I spoke to a team that uses all Virtue boards in their markers, yet plays Div. 2 NPPL....

maybe they need to make up their minds. like two months ago, they anounced that no advantagepb products would be allowed, and that any marker with a board or chip made by advantage will be considered illegal, and will result in disqualification.

i'm not saying i don't believe you, but that was an official announcement by nppl maybe 2-3 months ago.
