What to lube a Proto with?
Can I use SP Shocker Lube on a Proto Matrix, or will I have to buy new lube? For thoes of you that don't know, Shocker Lube is Dow 33.

QFT. Here is a site that sells it. I'm not saying you can't use Dow 33, but slick honey works better.

Just wondering, what (in your experience) would be the best way to get the stuff outta the jar, and onto the bolt? I don't wanna use my finger, and Q-tips would leave fibers and crap behind...

I just don't like the idea of having thousands of microscopic skin cells all over the bolt.
Okay, so I pulled that outta my arse. I just don't want to get my fingers greasy.

Dow 33 works well but I like Slick Honey better. Dye Slick Lube is worse than both but it stays on for a long time. Use your fingers to put it in and just buy some strong orange soap with pumice. It's made for taking off grease and it does a good job. Alternatively you can use dish soap which I use a lot anything to get the old grease off the bolt.

Sounds good.
Oh yeah, I ended up solving the problem anyways. As it turns out, you can order the Slick Honey in little syringes... so I ordered a syringe of it, and a 4 oz tup to refill it. Should make re-lubing rather quick.

Burn!
Ya...I decided to use slick honey too. Going to order some ASAP. Is there a chance anyone here has some extra that I could buy off them? I don't want to go through the whole Online ordering thing, because I haven't a credit card.

i bought a 20 oz jar of it at a bike shop...and i could probably relube both dm4s in my house every day for like 10 years and still not run out of slick honey. and eff.....just use your finger, its not that bad. i prefer using my finger so i can feel the thickness on the bolt and what not, but if you really gotta be a woman about icky fingers then use rubber gloves

is kind of a big deal

dow 33 is thick, but also slick smooth and not sticky like dye lube, and doesn't thicken in cold like slick honey can. just use a light to moderate coating, and it will work great. i use it.
