couple weeks back, i had my front sight drilled for a sling (like xavier, but i had never read this thread before i did it--guess good minds do think alike...sorta), well, i thought it was cool all in all, but, when i added rounds to the hopper, and then moved the sling around, THE HOPPER AND ELBOW ASSEMBLY CAME OFF i mean, my hopper fell off and hit the dirt...soo pissed. so im now just usuing it on the back sight part

You can get the rare earth magnets at radio shack. I found them there one day when looking for a microswitch. I picked it up and was walking with them in my hand and they stuck to a shelf I was walking by. Those damn things are really strong, but really really small.

anyway, i drilled a small hole straight through the front sight in such a way that it can barely fit a key-ring (i got a black one )through and not move. then i always tighten down the front sight receiver screw so it dosent come off for any reason because it dosent like to go back on. ill post pics in a minute but i must warn you, even before they are taken they suck becasue i have a 1mgpx camera

anodizing

I am pretty sure that because of the metal used to make the receiver halves, model 98's can only be powdercoated, not anno'ed.

The magnetic trigger when the magnets attract on a 98 custom is a little different and requires more effort. I did it myself if anybody would like to know how I will gladly tell. I don't have any pictures though. It really turned out nice. It makes the original spring feel terrible. Once youv'e had magnet you'll never go back.

Talking

for my m98 i have done the braces rubber band mod, the tape on the hammer mod, the eraser mod(i used a chunk of plastic from an old battery holder but any thin plastic will work) and the tape around the pin that the sear pushes against mod, and the steel wool internal polishing mod. all have worked very very nicely except i couldnt find aluminum polish only stainless steel , brass, copper, etc. is there really polish made for aluminum? 1 problem that would have resulted in un controllable full auto if i had gassed it up was i had too little tape around the pin for the sear and if i held the trigger down after firing when i let it go it would not return to resting position because the tape was in the way so i put 1-2 more wraps on and it is a ok now(my trigger pull is about 2 mm)

This is not my own idea, but I found this while searching online. It's a great alternative to painting, although it may cost you a lot to do this. http://www.paintballtimes.com/anodize.htm

Anyone else have some unique mods? post them up! [/b]
Yeah, its a shame that its impossible to annodize a Tippmann
