Good casual player gun?

My friend is looking at getting back into pb after not playing for a while, and is not quite sure what he wants. He is trying to stay budgeted around 130-215 ish. At the moment he has been looking at the 98 and alpha black, I suggested the mr1(only because one of my other friends has one on it seems much more accurate and efficient). What you would you suggest, what would be the best choice, not just between those two(also may suggest electros)

You cant go wrong with a Tippmann for just playing every now and then.

Is 130 to 215 for just the marker or do you need a mask, tank, etc. too?

New or used Vibe for a gun, decent mask that still has a thermal lens, 20oz tank, and at like a new or used revi would fit the bill.

I agree with the Vibe comment. I have the Tippman 98, A-5, and the Vibe and for the best bang for buck I'd go Vibe. Same price or cheaper than a Tippy but faster and quieter. My only complaint is that on c0-2 the vibe can chill and leave you stranded where the Tippman has NEVER failed me. I will never sell my Tiipmann's simply because they always go with me in case I need a failsafe gun that always works BUT, if you get compressed air, the Vibe is sweet.

Don't be bogged down by all this bps stuff, electro or what have you, look for a decent high end pump marker. Used phantoms or a sniper 2. They are easy to take care of, cheap to fix and you don't have to worry about $100.00+ hoppers or hpa. Shooting fast does not make you a better player. You are usually tagged out by the player that you cannot see, or by being caught off guard.

It doesn't compare to the Vibe but it's at least probably better then anything made by Tippmann.

I agree with iliveforthis. Vibe is the way to go, will server you well in any style of play and will be easy to maintain. Just make sure you maintain it like it is supposed to be, if you do that you will be fine. If not, it will give you more problems than say a tippmann would if you didnt take care of it. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
