alright, does anyone here own a pipe system for their cocker, and if so how loud is it? I have heard bad stories about how it is so loud and I want to keep my cocker nice and quiet!

PMI Premium

I usually shoot PMI Premium so what would be a good barrel for it once I get a cocker.

anything around .688 and .689

i used a lapco bigshot wiht premiums on my spyder and it worked very well. I'd suggest something like a dye ultralite, custom products 1 piece, lapco bigshot, dye boomstick

I always used PMI premiums with my boomy. They worked very well together.

Ultralite?

Would an Ultralite work just as good? I'm trying to minimize the weight on my gun and it's cheaper too.

What is the BEST (most accurate and/or easiest) way to check your paint to barrel match?

Paintball Times Test

I agree with Paintball Times on Bore Sizing with the Freak.

I tested fresh Marbs using the 0.689, 0.687, 0.684, 0.682, and 0.679 bores on a cocker with Freak and 14" Freak Front.

0.682 shot the best, but 0.684 shot well too.

Marbs are an old school favorite, but I hear that Evil and Severe are better.

im a little confused with the barrel of a cocker. with my 98c i have that ball thing that keeps it from rolling out of my barrel. but with a cocker if you have a smaller paintball then the barrel it can just role out? if this is not the case please tell me. but if it is, what barrel would you reccomend for someone thats uses a medium size paint.

Yes, that is the case. I would recommend a DYE Stainless Steel or Ultralight.

Depends on how fresh your paint is, ambient temperature, humidity and the precision of your digital calipers.

Here is the link for the pbtimes marb test.
They measured their sample balls ranging from 0.680 to 0.686.
http://paintballtimes.com/2001test/marb.htm

I believe that fresh Marbs shoot tightest groupings with the 0.682 and 0.684 freak bores although it is a tight fit. The 0.679 bore creates too much friction and causes the ball to lose accuracy. Marbs will occasionally roll down a 0.687 bore. I think 0.684 is a happy medium between too loose and too tight.

Incidentally, I tested Severe Cyclone with the Freak.
It's a super small paint and the 0.679 bore fit well, but I really think it could've used a 0.677 bore if it existed.

I find that a tighter bore fit results in better consistency over the chrono and a tighter shot.

Try it out for yourself and post your findings.

BTW, I also found that a 14" and 18" freak barrel will shoot nearly the same as 50 feet, but at distances exceeding 100 feet, the 18" actually has a tighter pattern. The trajectory and maximum distance might be comparable, but from what I've found the 18" appears to be more accurate at longer distances despite how goofy it makes you look.
