How to clean and not get water spots?

Hey guys,

I just got a dye invision and took the lenses apart for the "fun". Yeah, you guys are right. I think dye needs a new engineer. Anyways with all of the grabbin and pullin I mangaged to get a couple of finger prints on the inside and outside of these thermal lenses. I used water and wiped on the outside lense and dabbed on the inside. Worked find, no scratches, but huge water stains on the inside. I tried getting it damp and wiping it with the right cloth and it made little scratches. What do you do to get crystal clear lenses? I'm mainly concerned with the touchy inside lense. Thanks.

buy distilled water and use that instead....you dont get water spots with distilled water. works amazing.
